So she bent down foolishly to pick up the doll and remove it from the tavern. She grumbled about Myrddins wife with her typical dislike. Her hand touched the doll and a flash went off in her body.

She heard a male voice, Wait, Stop, dont touch it... She turned numbly in the direction of the voice and bumped right into a drow. Ut oh......

Her eyes locking and a wave of love washing over her. She felt as she would give anything to be with him, she felt as if the world was his. She felt that something was not right....

She was doing things she had never done, making promises she never would for she was afraid afraid of this, afraid of loss. She had kept those she cared for at arms length. It would be easier on them, for Merci had always felt in her line of work she would probalby die a young death.

Yet now she stared at the drow and others she knew dissapeared...the world of Sosaria did, her thoughts of great importance lost. Love once again in this powerful form becoming a weakness. She grasped her head and shook it and soon found her lips pressed against his...

This was madness, then like a wave of releif the spell broke her mind cleared and she shuddered in releif. For to break the spell kissing someone you dont love released her and she didnt love this drow, she only felt like she loved him.. that was the trick.

She smiled laughed at herself even, at her foolishness but there was a lingering glance even still and she realized that she was staring at her enemy.... She pulled her mind back to reality and her hand drifted to her kyrss.

Her true love, the love of battle returning to her once more...He would make a worthy foe...

Drayden was on the verge of exhaustion at the end of that day. His muscles burned from running and practicing with his new weapons. The bow and crossbow gave the Drow more of a workout than a blade ever had in the past. The draw on the bow and crossbow made him use muscles he didn't know he had. Drayden had felt odd in the past few days, like he was becoming someone else. Or perhaps someone, something, was guiding him. He passed through the Quarter a few times on his usual patrol around Umbra, his keen eyes picking up every detail in the dimness of his home. There was a warmth within him, he didn't feel alone. The hand of a divine presence he assumed. After making his round, he stowed his weapons and decided to head to Stonegate's Meadhall for some relaxation. Maybe some company and a drink, the last week left him in dire need of both.
The Drow materialized in Stonegate not a few moments later, his ears could hear loud voices inside the tavern. As he made his way inside, the smells of alcohol, food and orc nearly overwhelmed him. The place was crowded, but he found it easy to find a seat that would afford him good view of the room, the door and his back. His trained mind noted the enemies present in the room. He recognized several Lotus members that had been part of the raid last week. His blood boiled in his veins as his red eyes looked at Elric for a moment, the chaos inside was sometimes too much to bear, but tonight something gave him comfort. Comfort in knowing that his kind were superior. Superior to the smelly orcs in the Meadhall. Superior to the humans that were now hated enemies. There were many familiar faces, and not all were enemies.
He hadn't been there for twenty minutes, when he saw the woman known in Stonegate as Merci. She was a friend of sorts. The Drow had met her a handful of times and all had been pleasant. She wasn't hard on the eyes either. For a human. Something in the room was different however. Aside from the the large number of people, he could sense the tingle of magic and enchantment.
What IS that? Where is it....
Merci turned from him then, noticing a doll on the floor. It was too late for Drayden to stop her though, for her hands had already grasped it. In his minds eye, he could see a change in her as her back was to him. Her eyes were adoring when she caught his gaze. He was baffled and shocked at her behavior. "You're everything I ever wanted Drayden! I would make love to you five times a day if it meant being with you!"
The enchantment was strong, he could feel it, smell it almost. She removed her gloves and stepped towards him. Desire in her eyes. Drayden stepped back awkwardly, shaken by this woman's strong attraction. Though he did like the woman, he never realized she liked him THIS much. "Um." Was the only thing Drayden could manage, and the excited chatter continued around the room. He felt odd. The way she looked at him, the way her words seemed to make his heart race.
How long has it been since a woman gave you this kind of attention?
He couldn't recall right then, his mind was coming to terms with what was quickly happening around him. One of Merci's friends pushed her towards him, telling her friend to kiss him....
As he backed away, Merci said more loudly, "We could fight together in battle! Oh what beauty it would be!" Part of the Drow's mind was flattered, embarassed and intrigued at the same time. Not that he would turn down this female, the more she went on the more he was liking the attention. The closer she moved to him the more he wanted her to tell him more. Hearing her speak with such lust almost ignited the same desire in him....
Something still was not right. He could sense strong magic about her, something was making her act this way. "Go ahead Merci! Kiss him if you love him!"
She moved in close and pressed her lips to his own, a pleasant experience. In fact, the Drow was surprised at how pleasant of a kiss it truly was....then it was gone. The kiss, the desire within the woman in front of him. The magic in his sense, the enchantment had faded...
There were small conversations that continued, but his mind was occupied by the woman's odd behavior...not that it wasn't wanted. In fact some part of him yearned for attention like that. There was only so much love a Matron of Llloth could give, and it wasn't what these humans gave... what Drayden was wanting. He bid the small group of Stonegate natives farewell. His eyes watching Merci as he rode by for a moment a smile on his face as he said, "I'll see you again..."
