Walking through the Moongate of Umbra Morio set forth to find somewhere, a place he can settle in, a place to be neutral...

Walking through the Moongate at Minoc he skirted the edges of Vesper and Minoc,

"The gypsy camp will hardly welcome my presence so Minoc is out, Vesper is too close also..."

Traveling on he went through the gates of Cove...

"Right men the numbers of Orcs in the fort are beginning to get out of control we need to thin them out!"

Cheers erupted from the gathering towns folk, the head speaker noticed Morio standing there.

"You sir.... with the... err tails... would you help us?"

Morio just shrugged and went over to the group.

"Right lets storm the fort!"

The townsfolk near enough ran for the gates, following Morio took out his bow and fitted an arrow, he noticed that the townsfolk was in complete disaray he put arrows in the orcs that was about to kill members of the townsfolk. He noticed that the leader that got this group together didn't have a clue in keeping the group together...

Morio had had enough shouting.

"FORM UP!"

"PIKES AND SPEARS TO THE FRONT! SPELL USERS TO THE REAR, ARCHERS GO TO HIGHER GROUND! MELEE STAND JUST TO THE SIDE OF THE LONG ARM USERS"

"FRONT RANK PUSH FORWARD"

One of the men shouted

"THERE ARE TOO MENY OF THEM!"

Morio shouted

"ARCHER LAY DOWN COVERING FIRE, MAGES CAST POISON AND FIRE FIELDS TWO PACES AHEAD OF THE FRONT RANK, MELEE RETREAT KEEP EYES FRONT!"

As the group backed out the orcs came forward but died to the volleys, the magics and to the melee warriors in the front ranks as they moved backwards back towards Cove. Once they retreated they noticed that the Orcs came no further.

Walking back to Cove some injuried but not fatally the head of the town spoke to Morio,

"You seem to know about combat sir."

"Hai... You could say that..."

"Would you mind tutoring us?"

Thinking about Morio's tails swayed as he thought about it.

"I am willing to step down as head an allow you to take it."

"How about just making me a town elder.... That way the power structure stays the same, also about inviting other warriors and such for armour fitting, weapons training, trading in arms and so forth.... Bring trade and gold to the town..."

"Aye! It can be arranged."

Morio nodded,

"I must go speak with the other elders Morio, if you will excuse me."

The head ran to gather the other Elders, Morio looked around, noticing that the town was easy to defend with only two access points, the harbour and the gates.

Hours later the the five elders came to Morio as he was sitting on the Quey watching the water below.

"Morio ab'Arawn, We would like to invite you to be an Elder of Cove, we have also agreed about what you said about warriors coming here to train in combat also to train the townsfolk in combat skills."

Morio nodded and spoke,

"I accept... I do have however one request.... none shall be turned away... be whatever there nature.... Cove is to remain Neutral.... I will head off to the Protectorate meeting tonight if that is agreeable by majority vote....?"

"Aye"

Morio nodded and went off with the Elders to speak more on the running of Cove and to see about brining more gold into the town, increasing the standard of living for the other townsfolk and about culling off some of the Orcs at the fort.....
