Left on the Boss' desk at the new Double Dagger establishment, a sealed parchment bearing warning markings indicating the scroll is poisoned in strategic spots.

Boss,

I have urgent news to report. The last few days in Umbra have been most....active.

By now you will have heard that the Protectorate and Sanctus both paid Umbra a visit. You also should already know that Stonegate warriors have visited as well. No doubt you have already heard about the fallout resulting from these visits. But there is more to tell....

I managed to position myself in the room where the Lich Lord and his Umbran forces held a meeting after the events of yesterday. The meeting began with a most unexpected visitor--Bailos himself! He pledged loyalty to the Lich on the spot. Church seemed skeptical but Bailos promised to raise a great Citadel for Umbra as a both a gift and as a sign of his loyalty. He was most serious when he spoke and seemed to be quite sincere in his claims.

The Warlord then made introductions between Bailos and the rest of the Umbrans who were present. He went on to warn them all to be vigilant as Sanctus, the Protectorate and Stonegate have all declared Umbra an enemy. He assigned patrols to each of the soldiers present and then sent them out with the mandate to defend the city at all costs.

There is one particular Umbran who might be of great interest to us. He was presented by the Warlord as Ad'non--and he is ilythiiri. He did not share the same faith in the Lich as his Warlord does and was especially concerned that Darrien Church is the main reason why Stonegate will not ally itself with Umbra. He might prove useful to us in some way.

I will endeavor to learn more of Stonegate--thier strengths, weaknesses and especially thier motives. I will seek you out first as I am sure you have knowledge about them that you can share with me beforehand.

:K:
