Left in the designated place at the new safehouse--a sealed parchment addressed to The Boss.

Boss,

As you have ordered I have been keeping a watch on Umbra as best I can.

You already know the major events and you have my report of what transpired after you left the meeting between The Matron and the Lich.

However, there is another matter of concern I must bring to your attention.

A few nights ago I followed a pair of strangers as they entered Umbra from the moongate. A man and a woman. The woman was called Jessie, the man's name is not known to me.

They were very curious about Umbra and what was going on since the Matriarch's departure. I dismissed them as a threat, thinking them only another pair of curious lightsworn coming to see the chaos that Umbra has been thrown into as of late.

However, over the past few nights I have seen the girl, Jessie, meeting with the remnants of the Umbran leadership. Today she met with the one called Kaelthir, whom I believe to be second in command of the new Umbran leadership.

I confronted her on the bridge leading to the Drow Quarter.

She spoke very cryptically and far too casually for someone facing down a Drow Assassin. Either she is surpremely confident, or surpremely stupid. Either way, the fact that she dares to stealth around Umbra puts her at odds with us. I seek permission to kill her on sight the next time I catch her stealthing around the city. This one is dangerous, Boss...we should stop her before whatever she is planning comes to fruition.

I will seek you out in person soon. I have much more to tell you.

:K:

The Boss could only think of one fitting response to his Watcher's latest letter. He quickly sketched out several flyers and posted them around Umbra later that evening. They all read the same thing:

Let it be known! Any person caught hiding and sneaking around Umbra and the Drow Quarter are subject to questioning. Any resistance will be taken as hostile and force will be used if necessary.

After making his way around, Alaundril through through the cave, leaving Umbra behind him and heading into the desert....

It was well into the night when Kinn made his way through the moongate into Umbra for his nightly patrols.

Already he had seen some very interesting things.

The new Warlord of Umbra was meeting with a man Kinn recognized as a high ranking Protectorate official. The name eluded him for the moment, but Kinn made note of his description--the Boss would surely know who this person was. Kinn almost felt sorry for the owner of the Umbran bakery. It must have been a trying experience to wait on two men of such power and importance at the same time!

But that wasn't the most interesting thing Kinn had see so far on his patrol.

It didn't take him long to see the notice--signed by the Boss himself!

Kinn read the decree hastily.

"Resistance taken as hostile.......force will be used....."

Kinn could barely contain his excitement!

Finally! he thought, We will teach these outsiders who owns the shadows of Umbra!

Kinn fingered the hilts of his blades, almost caressing them.

Now, Kinn thought with a broad smile on his face, let's find that sneaky wench who doesn't fear Drow.......

Kinn took to the shadows and padded quietly away searching the ground for signs of his target.
