Kain sat down heavily in his new office. The past couple weeks had been a whirlwind of activity since his announcement in regards to The Reawakening. He had been approached by quite a number of people interested in assisting with his efforts to bring forth the revered Heralds organization. Molly had accepted their offer to join Skylar and him as an Oracle, going so far as to abdicating her running in the Regent elections to focus on their new positions. A new building had just been established in the past few days, right next door to their own home - one they could use to spread the Virtues by holding sermons within its newly painted walls. Yes, things were certainly progressing well.

Getting up from the hard granite chair, Kain walked into the bedroom across the hall to check on Skylar. She had relapsed again, falling into a comatose state right in front of Sir Robert at the Moonglow tavern a few days past. Shaking his head as he thought of his wife, Kain wondered once again if they would ever find a cure for her malady. They had departed Sosaria together in hopes of finding something to remedy her affliction, but nothing had been found as yet. As he entered the room, Isabella looked up from where she sat next to Skylar.

"My Lord, her condition remains unchanged," said the young girl. "Her fever did break, but she remains unconscious."

Stepping up next to the bed, Kain took Skylar's hand in his own. "She will recover, Isabella. She has to. I could not go on without her," he said softly. Whispering a prayer, Kain turned towards the blue-haired girl who they had adopted so many years ago. "Isabella, will you fetch some parchment and ink from my office? I need to send word to those who have expressed interest in joining us in our efforts to spread the Virtues."

"Of course, my lord," replied the girl. She quickly rose and left the room.

Kain leaned over Skylar, pressing his lips to her blonde-covered head. "M'love, I need you. I cannot complete our mission without you by my side."

Isabella returned with the requested items a few moments later. Kain pushed the many herbs and potions on the table next to the bed aside before setting the parchment down. Dipping the quill in the inkwell, he quickly scribbled several letters that all read the same.

Friends,

I write to you to inquire as to how your efforts progress on the essays we discussed. As I am sure you know, The Reawakening is progressing well. We have established a chapel for us to conduct services in. Do not mistake though, we need to press on and quickly. I fear that the dark forces in our world have surely heard of our efforts and will make every effort to stop us from our goals. The Oracles would like to name the Sages as soon as possible, so that we may begin our efforts to spread the Virtues in earnest. Already, we have a request from the city of Jhelom to give lecture to their fair citizens on the Virtues themselves. We must finish organizing ourselves shortly, lest those who wish us ill manage to preclude our efforts. I ask that each of you complete your essays no later than the final day of this very week, so we can move forward. If you cannot meet this deadline, please let the Oracles know as soon as possible. We thank you for your support and look forward to naming each of you as Sage.

Walk in Virtue,
Kain Elderan
Oracle of Courage

Rolling up the parchments, Kain sealed each using wax and the ring on his finger. Placing the bundle in a small satchel, he handed it to Isabella.

"Isabella, I need you to see that these are delivered - personally. Take one to Orelen Reaucher, who you should find in Britain. Lady Savhanna you can find in Spiritwood. Malicite and Sage Morgan reside in Moonglow. Ensure no one else but these see these documents - it is of utmost importance to retain the little bit of secrecy we have during these dark times. I will remain by Skylar's side until you return."

"As you wish, my lord," replied Isabella before turning and departing.

Kain looked at Skylar, checking on her before reaching across the desk to pull forth a book. Sliding his fingers across the cover, he wondered if the contents of the Book of Truth would reveal anything. It was only a copy, but he treasured it dearly.
