Life always takes its odd little twists and turns, that much had been proven to Bae'vin since finding her way to the city of Umbra and its pleasing lack of bright light. Her eyes no longer wept to the point of bleeding when she visited other cities in the time they called night, but her inner compass always pointed her back to that odd little corner of Malas.

Fortune had been with her, she had yet been forced to give up her secrets. This was definitely a good thing.

An even better thing had been accidentally finding her way into a relatively leisure-filled existence.

This was a most pleasing thing. Pleasing in every possible way.

There were no people about at this hour of the evening. At least, none that could be seen by Alaundril's eyes. He stood looking down over the quarter as a king might stare out over his kingdom, a faint smile on his face. His crimson eyes were far away and his mind seemed even farther. He looked down at the glass of whisky and took a swallow of the liquid. It tastes like wood....but after a few glasses. Perhaps it was the spirits in that glass that kept him warm, for it was one of the more frosty nights on his balcony, perhaps he should have thought about wearing more clothing when he came out here. A soft chuckle crept from him then as he pulled the cloak around him and looked back inside. Bae'vin had found herself a home here and he trusted that she would serve him, and the Syndicate well.
Alaundril saw her laying in his bed and truly relished in this moment. An evening like this makes me miss the times past. When there were far more females to go around. This had been the only other Drow female that he had seen that did not serve the Spider Queen. She seemed almost detested by the very mention of Spider Goddesses. That delighted the old drow greatly. For he shared her dislike of Lloth but chose not to avoid it, but to profit off of it by working for her Matrons. That time would come. As of now, didn't need a Matron....
Quietly, he set the glass down and walked back inside from the balcony, pulling the curtains behind him.
