Lord Kain Elderan,
I write this eve to invite you to Jhelom. I have been very busy getting everything established in Jhelom and would have liked ot have visited sooner, but I have many arrangements to make. Jhelom declaring their republic voided previous alliances and contracts. Due to the declaration I have been meeting with organizational leaders and townships near and far. Our borders remain stable as always. The Citizens have got word of the Awakening. Letters have piled my desk request lecture on the matters of principles and values. I have attached the dispatches with my messenger of the 34 separate interests that has filled my office. In good time please let me know if you can make the time to schedule in teachings of the values. The Citizens and the Council would greatly appreciate the gester.
Respectfully,
Chief Magistrate Yendorin
Republic of Jhelom
*letter is sealed in wax with the symbol of Jhelom imprinted along with 34 letters from the Citizens of Jhelom* |

With a little sigh, Kain rubbed his chin lightly as he thought of a response to the letter just delivered by a young messenger. Scanning the parchment again, he thought of Jhelom's new leader. He knew that Jhelom was surely in good hands with Jeren, his old friend Ashford's nephew, at the helm. His own son, Dayn, had apparently offered to assist Jeren by taking a position of town sheriff. With those two around, surely Jhelom must prosper. He was unsure of the meaning of Jeren declaring Jhelom's neutrality, but he could as well understand the want to stay away from the politics between the Protectorate and Umbra. As long as Jhelom held true to the Virtues, the Reawakening would gladly assist them. Taking up a quill, he dipped it in the inkwell on his stone desk and scribbled a short note.
Magistrate,
I was pleased to receive your letter. Surely, it does my heart good to know that there are those such as yourself that support the Virtues and the people in these dark days. Unto your request, I would most assuredly like to see a lecture completed before Jhelom's noble citizenry. I would like to meet in person to discuss this matter further, as parchment carries little weight and long response, vice words exchanged carry much weight and quick response. Let me know the day and hour hence you are available and we shall see it arranged.
May the Virtues guide you,
Kain Elderan
Oracle of Courage
Pinching a bit of sand from the small bag next to the inkwell, Kain let it fall on the ink. Rolling the parchment, he turned and dribbled the hot wax on the edges, sealing the letter with the ring on his finger. Stepping outside his office, he called for Isabella.
"Isabella, my dear. I need this delivered to Jhelom. Ensure Magistrate Yendorin receives it please."
"Yes, Lord Elderan," Isabella replied. She quickly hurried out of the grand manor, up the road towards Yew and the moongate there. _________________
