Lady Merrique,

Tho' it may have seem'd strange that I sought you out to beg favor, I would like to sincerely thank you for putting certain matters to rest, and gifting me with a much needed peace of mind.

I know you have not done me these kindnesses in the hopes for some sort of recompense, but, for me, a simple 'thank you' is insufficient.

If ever you have need of me, for anything at all, it would be my very great honor to do you true service.

Hvis lyset tar oss,
Arahim

Marily brought the letter to Merrique in her office, and she read it several times, each time wondering at the odd closing and its meaning. Merrique took pen to parchment and penned the following response, and then gave it to Marily with the instruction to use caution when taking the note to the young man's Sanctan home.

Arahim,

It is good to hear that your mind is at ease. Regardless of the differences of state we may hold, Sylvan is seen as a child of Umbra regardless of the current situation.

I have checked on her as per your request, and the progress seems to be good and strong. I urge you to keep her as calm as possible--her nerves are truly her worst enemy. We will continue with regular visits until the time comes for the birth of your child.

Please keep me apprised of any sudden changes that give you cause for alarm. If I am not readily found, please seek the Matriarch. I have spoken with her and she is aware of my involvement in Sylvan's care.

~Merrique
