The sting in his arm was fresh as the day it had been severed. No nerves remained in the mechanical replacement but the pain was actual and tormenting in his mind. It haunted the steps he took that evening about the manor.

Each thought that passed his mind gnawed at his thoughts like salt on an open wound, festering silently in the darkest regions of his ponderings. Time was slipping away from him, slowly, and surely. He could feel Eva's breath on the back of his neck, silent, yet steadily growing impatient. Her words whispered in his ear even now.

"It is time, Jon. Long past time."

His eyes shut at the broken silence. She was here, even now, as was she always.

"The child grows, Jon, and your time is comming to a halt."

Her words danced about in his mind until he heard her lips breath her next.

"You have your heir, finish this."

Too young... Eva. Be patient. With the subtle command her essense left him alone, to the silence of the moonlit night. She would push him no further this eve.

Yet her words rang true. His time was comming to a swift close, and her patience had already weathered too long. It would last little longer. His heir had been birthed, he simply needed more time...

"Holly..." His mind beckoned the girl in the silent night. "Holly, it is time we began on your... training."

The young girl shifted in the adjacent room, and the balcony door creeped open under her palm.

"Daddy... I had a weird dream."

A smile crept slowly over Jon's face. "Your dreams have yet to begin, Holly."

Aggie stood silently over the crib, the child green haired and red eyed, his dream child...

The perfect mix or so everyone thought but was it really to be so? Aggie stared down as the small child cried out restlessly.

The days past and she grew bit by bit:

In the mornings it was up and dressed on to our tasks, in the evenings it was a story tho a poor one, as Aggie wasnt much of a nursemaid.

It was one of these days where aggie stood working on her craft, as blood flew up from one vial and into the next that she heard the quandary of a little voice.

What are you doing?
Aggie paused her eyes shutting as she knew Holly stood not far from her just a bit behind her. Working, always working. she replied sternly.

Thats what slaves do, your my fathers slave, that makes you mine to... Aggie's anger boiled over she was going to destroy this child if it didnt leave her be... She turned to see Jon standing behind his prodigy and a broad smile on his face. How astute of you Holly. Aggies eyes flared angrily but there was nothing she could do..Nothing..for the chid spoke the truth. Yet Aggie thru the many long years had deluded herself into thinking she was more, as valued as she was to him, she was but a slave to the Strathmore family, she could not disobey him.

Its time to start Holly's training Agatha.
Her head lowered eyes open over that which she had worked on. She didnt want to leave her work. His voice was firm. I will need your help Agatha. She sighed there would be no arguing, there never was...

Aye Milord..
