Kain approached the place he had called home for many years, Empath Abbey. Memories of past times swirled in his thoughts as he entered the marble halls. Many times had he walked this same path. Stepping inside, he asked that one of the scribes to summon a messenger. He then sat at one of the wooden tables and took up a quill and ink well.

It has been too long since we have spoken to one another. I have only recently returned to these lands, but already I have seen enough to know that times have changed. I wish to discuss some of these changes with you, as well as a recent idea I had. Please let me know the best time when I can meet you. I would prefer this meeting take place prior to the Regency elections if possible.

The messenger arrived shortly after, and Kain sealed the letter before handing it over along with a small pouch of gold. Thanking the young lad, Kain departed the Abbey, his mind still drifting.

When I caught wind of your arrival back into these lands I was a bit under the weather. It seems I caught a bit of a cold and was unable to seek you out. I look for an answer by pigeon if you can find the time to see me today.
