The sting of humiliation was gradually ebbing. Though she was sure other people working with poisons injured themselves, she was angry with herself for joining those ranks.

It was bad enough that she made herself incredibly sick with the mishandling, but several fellow Umbrans got to see her arrive at combat training barely able to function and running off to vomit every twenty minutes or so. Whatever it was she'd been playing with, it was certainly resistant to contemporary cures.

However there was a lesson to be learned in this mistake. Deme learned that toying around with experimental concoctions posed a great deal of temptation. Temptation to perfect a method, temptation to try it out on an actual victim.
