Many Years ago:

Wind swept across the cold plains of Caina as the wraith moved, with every step, skin congealed upon her form. What was she...She was 11. The steps soon began to make imprints in the snow and she moved closer to the house she could see it in her eye.

Somewhere in the dark night a baby cried and disturbed her rest Shade sat up in her lonely bed. She reached out she felt nothing except the book She opened the book and the page fell once more to the same spot as before.

Written in Madelain's own writing:

Quote:
The green hair signifies our family and it shall never fail. All those born of it,shall endure it's curse, and prove themselves in a Rite of Passage.

Shade trembled, where was her family now, to destroy Eva, forced to suffer the glass of a million shards, she Shade had barely survived, her vampires blood trailed far from Eva's deathbed. Yet inexplicably now that she was safe, now that she had suffered the Rite, she knew, that there was more.

There was a knock at the door and Shade moved to it knowingly. The storm brewed with furious intensity as the girl fell thru the door as it opened, the words on her lips Mama... Into her arms, almost frozen, but not before green hair could be sighted beneath the snowy cover.

Written in Shade's handwriting that night:

She is small only about 11 but I know now what was created on the alter of blackrock. She is love tho I feared it and how it would change me, that was my trial. Long have i avoided it, ran from Toren, killed my lovers. Yet now I know that my Willow is love, as I was to my mother. We are not of the light, we do not hail the virtues but we together are here. At last i have family, I know family and it shall see greatness for that is my task. At last I have learned to love...Is she me or my child, it matters not she is mine.

Current day:

The dream was vivid and real the little girl soon thawed and since she was of wraith at heart, the cold was merely a temporary issue. Laughter spiralled into the night and the scene darkened in her mind. A mirror was reforming the pieces snapping back into place. Time moved backward and the great Mirror reformed, and it echoed a name...

Willow

The name Shade now called out as she sat up in her bed.

Cold, bitter chill was in the air. She'd been walking forever. Snow was all that could be seen for miles on end. Each path semed to lead no where.

Where is this place?

We wait patiently for now for you child of grief, soon we will wait no longer....... A Whisper replied Willow.

She tossed and turned in her bed causing Orelen to groan in protest. As she sat up pain shot up her arm. Willow tried to massage her shoulder to make the pain cease.

Is that mirror constantly turning over inside?
Unable to go back to return to her slumber she got out of bed and stepped onto her balcony. The cool Malas air kissed her face as the wind blew. Cold enough that the air itself almost had icy shards that cut through her skin chilling her bones. Eva's words wispered along the night wind,
"Your rite of passage awaits you"
How many rites of passage must she endure? Long were the days gone that she was thought to be that of a living embodiment of Nightshade. Never thinking she was more.
Once when she was a forever child she accepted her fate of remaining just that. She trained herself to be accepting of the fact that she would receive no more than that of a child. She had let go of things beyond that. Why pine for which you cannot have?
Then her death brought so much to her life. New beginings and new possibilities, yet she continued just the same. After this came litterally learning to love and be loved. It was easy to dismiss it when she was a child and never look back. Now it was like she was learning to a new sense.

All this already in her young life and her family line still wishes her to prove her worth.

Her mother's voice than rang into her head

She reflected upon Nightshade's visit a few days ago. Her mother telling Willow that her rite of passage she learned to love. Willow was an outcome of this too. Nightshade's words rang in Willow's head,
"Hold her tight Orelen, While you can" Words spoken by Nightshade days ago.

These spoken words of her mother shocked Willow. She didn't know why her mother had said this, Willow was very much the capable sort. However grateful she was to have her family and lover at her side, she new she was strong enough to endure this all. She had already done so much before, what could be different?
