Alaundril found it easy to live amongst the Umbrans. In fact, the more he stayed here in this dark place, the more he enjoyed it compared to the rest of the surface lands. The time was late, as that was the only time that the old Drow could be outside. The past few weeks of his time on the surface had taken a toll on him. His son had lived on the surface his entire life. Alaundril was not so lucky, having sought refuge in the depths below some centuries past. He had almost forgotten the burn of the cursed sun on his eyes. Like someone had poured magma into them. Slowly, he was growing accustomed to the bright orb in the sky, but he still kept his activities limited to the night hours and the early morning. The assassin supposed it worked well that way, as most of the marks he was tracking and keeping tabs on were asleep at night. He stood this evening looking out from the top floor of the Drow quarter's more recent building, "Spider's Kiss Trading Co." This was his home, though only a precious few new it. The structure had barely been erected and only a few pieces of furniture sparsely littered the three story brick building. Still, his plans were taking shape. His red eyes scanned the other Drow structures that had recently risen and he smiled, perhaps this chosen Matron of Lloth actually was in touch with the goddess.

Alaundril shrugged at the thought. If it weren't for the numbers of drow migrating to Sossaria, our kind would likely be extinct. The Matron's theological views were unimportant to the old drow. Her beliefs and ways were foreign to him, as he was a native to Sossaria and he supposed that he and his son were one of the precious few that still lived here. What was important however, was that the Drow Matron did not attempt to strong arm his outfit. Her house and his own Syndicate had much to offer. In all her impatience and anger, at least she recognized that. He looked at her most recent missive to him and recalled their conversation only a few nights ago. Apparently one of those in their alliance had betrayed Matron Viaxus. Alaundril only grinned as he mulled the thought over. Thats why I am here...

She had written detailed information on those responsible including names, where he may find them and their general tactics and allies. His red eyes scanned over the piece of paper memorizing the names and small potraits of each:
Emporer Tai Kwan Leap
Sia Yia - Ettin, her child as well
Viktor - Umbran
All members of the group known as "Doomed Patrol"

The Drow opened the small book he carried with him and slid the folded piece of paper inside, that would be valuable later. That business would be handled soon enough, and those who crossed the Drow would pay dearly for their betrayal. Maybe others as well. Alaundril wasn't sure if he wanted to let those close to the ones on his list off the hook easily. They would remember the price to be paid.

These thoughts calmed him and gave him a sense of purpose and a sly grin was on his face all night as he began getting Spider's Kiss up and running. Even through the utterly boring stacks of manifests and inventories. There would be retribution to be dealt....
