So... if I wanted to come back to UO, do I have to purchase Mondain's Legacy to even play? The official website is a bit confusing for a possibly returning player.

With all the content there is now you would probably want ML and Ninth Ann. I think?

I'm sure you could play without them, you just won't have access to quite a bit.

Get mondains, you dont need anything else. there may be certian houseing tiles and other goodies you get form the other "additions" but right now ML was the last expansion.

You can play without them.. but like he said, you want ML.. Its worth it, I think we can all promise you that..

Oh I am playing on the free client right now...it's okay. I can't go to the SE lands...or anywhere else interesting for that matter. However, for me, that's fine. It all depends on your preferences.

Or if you can get ninth, just get that. it comes with ML, and it makes it only $20 instead of the full @40 to upgrade.

If you just 'want to play' you can download the straight up ML game client from somewhere like Markee Dragon's or many other sources.

Yea, that's what I'm running, and the only bits of content I'm missing out on are the rediculous house tiles that everyone seems to love because they have "Shadow" in the name.

Go back to weathered stone, people. It's much less gay.

I'll go back to it when they give me the true Umbran black wall set. Until then suck on gay shadows! *cackle* Actually, I like the grey stone, the shadow, i love the color of the crystal roof - but have yet to find a practical application. I also love the marble and elven house tiles.. bother. I love it all in its own way.

Anyway, welcome back Kain, dunno if you even know who I am or not haha

Eh, I'm fairly good overall I guess. I may be out of the Army in a couple months, they messed up my hip.

Overall I've kinda just been searching for something to play... I quit WoW after 4 years, the past year leading a raiding guild of 100+ people just wore me out. I kinda miss quite a bit about UO, got into playing Eve but wife won't play it which makes it much less fun and leads to more of her trying to drag me away from the computer. Laughing

Is the community still sizeable? I know at one point I had taken the free "Return to Brittania" or whatever it was... but was still too into WoW at the time. I am just torn right now between coming back... or playing on an interesting freeshard I found.

Edit - How is player housing these days? Is it hard to come by? I sold my old house for gold before I quit, but I dont remember for how much. Any chances if I did come back that someone might sell me one cheap? Really don't want to go back to a small tower... Wink
