No child that had been hers had been born of normal self. The parents themselves were far from what should be. Her first set of children Varrius and Adara had been blessing to her loss of time with them had hurt her for years to come.
Adara herself had never been quite right, it was often suspected that the Druid magics within her were attacking the corruptive nature of blackrock within her own body. A sort of immune response that was disastrous. Yet she had always been Wistys dream child, and so into dreams she returned, the druid child...
Then there was a Varrius, his world shattered by the loss of his twin he rebelled vowing to be everything his father was not and flee'd from blackrock at a young age. He spent much time in Umbras WIT program where even there he was slightly cast out, and ended up settling in Yew. Wisty saw her boy far and few and it pained her at his distance. Yet she would never forget the redhead furry faced boy who held his arms out to her. Aye Varrius had been the biggest mix of the bunch, adapting some of cears traits since his blood coarsed thru Torens veins...
Then there was the next set of twins and this time Wisty had faired better than they, one dying and the little girl deaf at birth. It was an oddity that the boy was returned, deaf and mute at an older age, an oddity that no one spoke of for no one could explain. So Gray lived, named after her father and had found his talents in Alchemy. The boy spent most his time by Dragos side.
Zendella outgrew her hearing loss oddly enough and it is of her that I speak of odd. For she was the most normal. There was but one thing of Zendella that was unusual but in all other respects she was quite ussual. She loved the zoo and sweets, she was bright and happy and loved to stare up at the stars forever. She lived up to her gifted namesake of Zendella and devoted herself greatly to the Cabal's cause.
She was all in a daughter that Toren could ask for and Wisty could find little complaint. She was strong and able, book smart and her biggest flaw lied in her maturity to soon, her very precise need for things to be as they should, not as they are. Yet with a family as hers whom could blame her.....
It was upon a very grey day when the skies were clouded and light specks of water dappled the grounds of Britain that Wisty walked with Zendella down the streets of Britain. Zendella had heard of the conservatory there and she had begged Wisty to take her. Feeling the need to get out Wisty had lead her carefully and quietly to this place of musical learning.
She didnt think she would be able to get Zendella to leave..she wasnt sure they would let Zendella leave. What transpired within the walls was hushed but Wisteria soon found herself telling the head of the Conservatory all that she could about her child. There was no doubt about it a 12 year old that could pick up any instrument and play well or sing with the perfect pitch that was rare, was odd to them. Yet such a very normal talent when compared to some of the others she had seen.
Yet she was blessed as Zendella should be, to bring peace to this world. It wasn't but a week later that the letter arrived....... |
