Brittany scooped a spoonful of soup from the pot, gently blew on the rising steam, and finally brought it to her lips for a taste. She shook her head, crinkling her nose, “That’s terrible!” It was nothing more than simple chicken broth as instructed by the healers, but it made Brittany antsy to cook something so tasteless. Even though the healers were certain that Cal’s illness was nothing serious, she was still putting great effort into his care. “He should be as comfy as possible and get well as fast as possible!” She nodded affirmatively at this thought and scurried to the bedroom with a small bowl of broth. Cal was just where she had left him, resting in the bed.

“Cal? Honey, I’m sorry but the soup…it’s kinda…icky. No taste.” She set the bowl on the nightstand and looked to the different potions the healers had sent home with him. She furrowed her brow and thought, “I don't remember when they said to give him what…” She bit her lip and looked from the potions to Cal…from Cal to the potions. “Dang, what did they say?!” She sat on the edge of the bed and poked him once on the shoulder with her index finger. “Cal? I gotta question. Are you supposed to take the red one tonight and the blue one tomorrow? Or the blue one tomorrow and the red one tonight? And uh…what about this green one?” She picked up this last one, shook it and held it up to the light, tilting her head, “It’s got floaties in it.” Brit crinkled her nose, yet again, and looked back to Cal.
