Comrade Windom,

I write this letter to you because I have not seen you around Verity Isle as of late. I am excited to tell you that a few more men of Moonglow have agreed with our Cause. One even came to me to discuss it further. Tis joyous news, and reporting it to you warms my heart.

Sadly, I am afraid with such cheerful news, I must bring a more sombering bit of news to you.

It seems that those who share our ideals are under attack within our own city. I have witnessed one of our men threatened with demotion for wearing the colors of the Cause. Within that same period of time, a spell was cast and targeted at him. This is a shameful practice. I have heard of another who openly shares his ideals who was threatened with a demotion... Why? Because his ideals differ.

I must say, when I was Mayor, at no point did I prevent an Elf from advancing in rank. While this may not be the ways of a Humanis Purist, it was what was best for Moonglow. I find it shameful that such actions are going on within our own city. I fear for those who hide their ideals due to the fact that others find it "wrong". It seems we have a double standard in Moonglow.

You, sir, are a Humanis Purist. One of the greatest minds to ever grace our Cause. What is it you believe we should do? I seek your answer, for I am at a loss at the moment. I will await your reply or perhaps see you on Verity, and we can discuss this more.

Always Truth.
For Humanity!
Keep the faith.

Sincerely,

Samon Triest

*A young man wearing the red presents Samon with a sealed letter*

Samon Triest,

I apologize for my absence over these past few days, and I cannot make my actions known at this point in time. These things shall come to light soon enough.

My heart burns brightly with conviction after reading your words, for I too have come across many willing to take up the red. As our numbers grow steadily, I believe our righteous voice will reach all of the oppressed across the realm. However, it worries me that so many have heard of us. We must double our efforts to remain hidden, or those who mean to suppress us will surely try to destroy us.

The malice aimed at our supporters, in Moonglow, should fortify our resolve. Remember, many great ideas were attacked when they were first given life, and we are no different. If you can, let those being oppressed in Moonglow know that change is coming! We shall not forget their sacrifices.

Samon, do what you can to find out any information on the Drow being detained in Moonglow. Apparently, he was starting fires around the city. It seems strange to me that the officials in Moonglow are not going to burn this Drow alive for his crimes. It seems doubly strange when you take the persecution of our supporters into account. My spies have provided me with some information, but I want more. See what you can find out.

Lastly, do not question your conviction to me again, for you are as pure a Humanis as I have ever met. Sometimes, for the good of humanity, we have to turn a blind eye to these beasts. Keep in mind, and let all of our supporters know, that salvation is coming and anyone willing to take up the red, for the protection of humanity, is a Purist in my eyes. We are the shield and sword of humanity! We are Humanis! Hold Humanis High!

With the deepest respects,

Artius Windom
