I would really like to know the history of the peerless. Where did they come from? I heard Travesty had some sort of an alliance with Minax... not sure if it's true.
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks!
Very Happy

Ok... how about history of any part of Ultima? Are there good sites to go to for accurate historical information? I realize this shows me as the noob I am... I've only been around for about 2 years, but I think to make a well-rounded character background it would be a smart idea to know something about the history of the game, and so the new people we mentor don't come up with some wacky idea and get burned for it with you seasoned RP'ers.
Many thanks.

Your best bet would be to check out the Z0G Cabal website, if memory serves they have links to Ultima-lore sites in their portals section.

Hi there Liz.

There are indeed some fantastic sites for ultima lore. I'll name a few here:

1) www.thezogcabal.com - Darrien speaks true, shameless self promotion though it may be, our GM is a lore fanatic and has found every secret website in the history of time..You just have to explore the portal section.

2) http://uo.stratics.com/news/QuestandEventNews.shtml -Stratics History and lore Page

There is quite a bit of information that can be gleaned just by looking at the Biographies and some of the other sections there.

3)http://home.hiwaay.net/~carrot/history/ -History of Sosaria:

There is a lot of information contained in this site, it is also one of the many from the moongates section at thezogcabal.com . Not all of this information is 100 percent cannon, but the writer tells you when he is speculating and has some pretty reliable information included.

Between these sites I'd say go nuts, I know most of what I know from these sources.

Also, while it is not all pertinent to UO lore, as UO is its own seperate entity, I too find it interesting to know the lore of the original ultima games. I certianly don't know everythign there is to know, I'm still working on that, but there is some pretty great stuff in the old ultimas that they still pull from today in UO.

Unfortunately I can't tell you much about the peerless as I didn't research them much, but if you have any other specific questions I'd be happy to share what I know.

Not certain there is an extended history behind the Peerless themselves, though I do know they were first introduced around the Repond Invasion of Brit. years back, when the Monster Generals started taking over the city.

I can also add that with the peerless travesty, and I think one other, comes the first evidence in some time that Minax is still lurking. We all knew she wasn't dead...

Goodness im sorry i diddnt see this post earlier.
There is very little lore about the Peerless Bosses in Ultima.
Its kind of hard to I suppose when launching an expansion that
alters land and lore thats been in place for years never mentioning
anything like that.
300 years no elves, then elves fall out of trees ya know.
However.
From pages and old Docs from the ML

Chief Prox: The following was found on a tattered parchment when his lair was revealed

A gigantic king, ruling from the underworld has returned to the surface bringing the four D's with it - Death, disease, disruption and disillusionment. His breath kills all flora and fauna in his wake. His skin leaks poison, his heart is pure ice. Everything in his path dies.

A man once shouted to those entering the twisted weald

Once a pristine forest glen nestled amidst mountains, this area is now the tainted home of Dread Horn, Gnarled trees, stagnant pools of brackish water, huge spider webs, and thorny obstructions create a terrain ruled over by the influence of the blighted unicorn. Adventurers enter the dungeon by passing between a narrow gap in the bramble covered trees. Thorns bite into boots and entangle feet. Vast spider webs cling to players slowing their movement and drawing the attention of the arachnids who make this area their home.

Upon asking any aged scholar in the Empath Abbey, they will tell you

Lady Melisande was once a dryad devoted to a powerful tree in Yew. The swamps destroyed her tree and her lands, cursing her in the process. Her touch upon the land now taints and corrupts.

As for the ruler of Bedlam, only your observations give lore

The unfortunate result of a death ritual gone awry, a Monstrous Interred Grizzle is the remains of man, beast or monster partially returned to life after some time has been spent buried beneath the land.
