Drayden arrived at him home late into the evening, not that it surprised him as that seemed to be a normal occurrence nowadays. Since he had been working with his fellow Drow, he found he spent less and less time in the light of day. Perhaps his last year of living in the Underdark played some role, he wasn't sure. The Drow moved quietly upstairs to his singular desk in what was to be his study in the future. A quick flick of his hands set the candles aflame, shedding a comforting glow through the room. Drayden sat and penned a not to an old associate of his...
Mr. Stark:
I know not what has happened to some of ours during my absence. My hope is that you did what was ordered by the boss and disappeared. Whatever the case may be, I have returned to the surface and I seek your counsel and services. Please contact me as soon as possible, so that we may get things organized.
Regards,
Calamyr
He sealed the letter with the Calamyr family crest and murmured a few magical words to protect it from unfriendly eyes and then carried it to a meeting place that had been used once, Drayden made the sure the letter was hidden properly in the cave. The Drow faded into the shadows and moved on then, beginning his nightly round. |

The night was frigid, and Jerrick was glad to be back in his warm cave. As soon as he entered he knew immediately that someone else had been there recently. This place was seldom disturbed. As he made his way to the back of the cave he noticed a small envelope sticking out of a special spot in the black stone cave wall.
"Hello....haven't gotten one of these in a while" The man grinned slyly, knowing that only one person knew who and where he was. Jerrick quickly made his way to the crack that the letter was placed in and opened it.
"As always Calamyr..." He shook his head and laughed quietly as he placed his hand in a secret hole in the cave wall before him, the wall slid up, revealing a small room with various odds and ends, mostly of a vile nature. Mr. Stark went to his small desk and penned a short but proper reply to the Drow Mage:
Calamyr:
It is good to know that you are amongst the living. I have been laying low until you returned. Now, I am at your service. As is the boss.
We will meet this evening and discuss what you wish to "organize".
Mr. Stark
Jerrick sealed the small note with the symbol of a forgotten order, one that only the drow would recognize. He slid it back into place, and slipped back into his home, the stone wall sliding down behind him. |
