Kal’iksix stormed into her dwelling after the heated exchange with the stranger. The anger within her had reached the rage level and she desperately wanted to take it out on the first male she saw. No, she wanted to take it out on Catequil then on Nalimar for abandoning her in his quest on the astral plane.

“Go talk to your Mother,” was the words that echoed in her head. With those words, Kal’iksix bounded up the stairs by twos to the roof and stood before the Goddess’ alter. She didn’t even bother to light the fires and don her ceremonial robes for her upcoming conversation with the Goddess.

Kal’iksix began the ritualistic chants to open the lines of communication with her Mother. She called for one of the yochols to act as the link between Kal’iksix and the sixty sixth level of the Demonweb Pits. Kal’iksix focused on her breathing to quell the rage within her in order to make a strong connection. Kal’iksix recalled how difficult it was to call upon the Goddess without another female or, when another female was not available, the Patron assisted her.

The wispy figure of a maiden appeared above the alter in front of Kal’iksix. The yochol looked around and saw no normal ceremonial items surrounding her and turned her anger upon Kal. Kal’iksix stood tall and braced herself for the telepathic voice about to roar in her head.
“How dare you call forth the Goddess without proper preparations?! I will return when you fix this!”
“NO! I demand an audience NOW with my Mother!”
“Who demands such thing?”
“Kal’iksix!”

The handmaiden’s eyes widened, bowed, and nodded as she meditated to make the connection to the Goddess; her eyes rolled back into her head and the voice boomed louder in Kal’iksix’s head.
“Vel'bol zhah l' sanrr d' nindol dalharil lu' ele inbal dos naut alus areion l' inthen 'bgualyiz valyr?!”
[“What is the meaning of this daughter and why have you not gone through the preparations properly?!”]
“Venorsh Ilhar, Usstan inbal erg'lesen taga ssrig'luin an'yuil NIN!!”
[“Silence Mother, I have questions than need answers NOW!”]

A bolt of pain shot through Kal’iksix’s midsection and she tried her damnest not to double over from it. She gripped her abdomen and stared hard at the yochol. Kal hoped that whatever hit her, did not impair her fertility. She knew such demands could spell certain death for her if she was not careful. Then again, if she fell, Nalimar would fall too due to her blood binding of him to her and the house. The thought of his demise brought a smirk to her face; he was deserving of such for leaving her now.
“Doebkaztirth saph nindel lu' dos zhaun vel'bol orn sha'nalt ulu dos Dalharil. Nin vel'bol zhah ol dos lac an'yuil ulu?”
[“Outbursts like that and you know what will happen to you Daughter. Now what is it you seek answers to?”]
“Vel'uss wun l' thal uoi'notan zhah Catequil?!”
[“Who in the nine hells is Catequil?!”]

Another bolt of pain ripped through Kal’iksix’s head. She grabber her head with both hands and yelped in pain. It felt as if her head would split right there. She closed her eyes briefly to force her mind from the pain and to focus on the connection to the Goddess.
“Vel'bol xunus dos telanth?”
[“What did you say?”]
“Catequil”

The Goddess paused and looked at her daughter, writhing in pain for her demands. Did she really say “Catequil”? It couldn’t be true that he had made another trip to the surface from the Abyss. Lolth looked at Kal’iksix again and stopped the pain bolt. If it was him, what did he want with her daughter.

“Ele xun dos joros? Uk 'udtila naut inbal jala morad ulu dos xor dosst elamshin.”
[“Why do you ask? He does not have any meaning to you or your destiny.”]
“Usstan tha ukta wun l' Den. Uk zhahus ves erg'les bauth uns'aa. Uk phlyus uk zhaun dos.”
[“I met him in the Den. He was very curious about me. He claimed he knows you.”]
“Uk zhah nau uss, gotfrer bauth ukta.”
[“He is no one, forget about him.”]
“ILHAR! AN'YUI UNS'AA! Uk ulnen uns'aa, ussta ilharn, ussta qu'ellar, lu' dos!”
[“MOTHER! ANSWER ME! He insults me, my patron, my house, and you!”]

Lolth raged and sent two pain bolts at Kal’iksix. Kal’iksix collapsed on the floor double in pain and screaming loudly. Blood began to run from Kal’ikisx’s nose.

“Dos orn NAUT telanth ulu uns'aa wun nindel ssivah. Nau yathrin rin'ov uriu lu' dos ph' naut endar! Catquil zhah naut natha elend Ilythiiri jaluk. Dos shlu'ta'naut kl'ae ukta 'zil folt. Uk orn elgg dos xuileb ssiggrin. Uk zhah l' yah d' lighting. Drill Usstan brorn vel'bol uk ssinssrinen xuil ussta dalharil?
[“You will NOT talk to me in that tone. No priestess ever has and you are no exception. Catquil is not a typical Drow male. You cannot treat him as such. He will kill you without thought. He is the god of lighting. But I wonder what he wants with my daughter?”]

Kal’iksix remained on the floor in the fetal position. She knew she had pushed well beyond her means with the Goddess. All she wanted was the pain to end within her so that she may turn it on to someone else. Again, Catquil entered her mind. The way he looked at her, studied her, and insulted her Patron as being a poor lover. Why was he so concerned with her quest in providing an offspring? She also recalled how he told her to be better than House Baenre. Kal’iksix knew she needed to meet with him again, even if her Mother refused it.
“Inbau phor! Dos inbal mzilt xund ulu xun. Dos ssrig'luin ulu ragar Ronin lu' telanth xuil ukta. Xund pholor l' valm d' dos lu' ukta lu' ukt akh d' naut-elghinyrr. Tlu kyone d' Ian. Uk xal tlu d' fol kl'ae ulu dos wun mzild i'dollen taga uss. Gotfrer d' Catquil. Usstan orn dryss'ho l' byr phraktos lu' quar'valsharessen lu' b'varess ukta rath ulu vel'klar uk wund'akhen.”
[“Get up! You have much work to do. You need to find Ronin and speak with him. Strengthen the bond between you and him and his army of undead. Be mindful of Ian. He may be of some use to you in more ways than one. Forget of Catquil. I will gather the other gods and goddesses and recall him back to where he belongs.”]

With that, Lolth severed the line of communication, leaving Kal’iksix lying on the floor, shaking and bleeding. Angry grew like a fire within Kal’iksix but when she realized what she was told about Catequil, she became very frightened. She had threatened a god. Not even Nalimar or now, Ronin could protect her from such death. She shuddered and remained where she laid. Sensing something wrong, her pet spider Selvetarm, her favorite of all her pets, crawled to her and laid next to her. She cuddled close to the spider and continued to shake with fear. Not only had she angered her Mother, she angered another god. Where in the nine hells was Nalimar when she needed him the most.
