My Dearest,
The nights dwindle slowly with you gone. I've finally returned from Ilshenar, empty handed unfortunately. The trail began to grow cold, and I fear the worst for young Demetria. I'll tell you more when I see you, however I do hope this doesn't harm my image with your ... "Cohorts?" Failure isn't something to which your compatriots seem accompanied.
Your journey goes well I hope, I do wish I could be making it with you. Esspecially with a fruitless one just behind me. I need to wash the taste of failure from my lips.
Send note when you can, I desperately await your word.
With all my love,
Oreo |

Willow smirked as she saw the pigeon with the message attatched. The relieved the bird of it's burden.
"Tommy, look here's a new friend for you" Willow chuckled as the cat began to play with the doomed pigeon."
She then took out the last of her parchment and ink. She trembled slightly from the cooler weather, it clearly showed in her scribblings.
Oreo,
This is the only letter I write to you. I was dissapointed that you didn't join us on our journey, but it was because of our order that you could not. Oh, and did I forget to mention in the frenzy of gathering supplies for this journey Demetria is safe in Umbra. The Matriarch didn't wish to waste any more time for Demetria and elisted the help of a Scrying mage. Demetria was recovered shortly after the Matriarch's return.
I expect to see you return to me with the same haste. If you are the detective I know you to be, you will only need to know the one last clue to catch up with us.
Make sure you bring your heaviest robes. Otherwise you may not make it to us.
Love,
Willow Tree
She rolled the letter binding it with a strip of cloth.
"Tommy, I need that bird back" Tommy reluctantly handed her the semi mauled pigeon. She attached the letter to it's leg and snickered as the injured bird flew away. _________________ Malorn ‎(12:14 AM):

The letter reached him at the break of dawn, his glance currious at the unfortunate state the bird had returned in... A run in with a cat perhaps.
His eyes hasted the letter, his lip curling into a smirk.
"Clever girl. Seems I have -another- quest for which to prepare."
He rolled the parchment and tucked it into his vest pocket.
"I'll see you soon my dear."
He stopped emptying his pack, and immediately began to replace what he had removed... with a sigh. |
