The Lich Lord was gone or so the Knight could come to realize... the Ebon Skull no where to be found or so the Dark Paladin could seen; a Sepulcher where the temple once stood... This was the one solid truth he could touch.
The last time the man had stood before this land Bailos had been run from Sanctus and fled into the night. Sadira had been just rescued; and the Dark Paladin himself stood guardian of the Ebon Skull and forced servant of Oblivion.
Now the man was free; the voices in his mind still remained just as loud but the urgings of Oblivion slowly were fading away. Where does one go when they no longer realize who they are? What purpose they once held before their life became so twisted and lost in Fates web.
"We do hold some memories still yet ... as the cloud fades from our mind. Tatiana the gentleness of her touch ... the engagement and possible marriage before we were forced away ... Grigori ... the lad of Beowulf..." his voice drifting away as the fog of his memory clouds over once again.
Pacing the cold pale stones of the Wailing Banshee balcony, his pale yet glowing blue eyes gaze over the destitude land of Umbrae. Talking to himself as the Dark Paladin struggled to point his mind back together. "Who is a man when he knows not what he has done ... and where does a man go when he does not know what the Fates have in store."
Stopping his pace he turned to face towards the Sepulcher's direction over the distance of Umbrae city. Remembering the Temple that once stood there; the duties and atrocities that he once performed at the cause he never believed in. "We were ... I was betrayed and my hand forced ... " bringing a leather gloved hand to his face he unstrapped the metal plated leather mask that hid his lower jaw and nose, allowing the ancient markings of the Eternal to breath in the stagnant air of the dark city.
~The Events of the Past may never be revisited ... but it is not to late to make a new path for yourself~ the dark voice of his inner self spoke true, though he refused to take it in. "No ... For now we must continue to watch, observe and see what this new world of Sosaria has to offer."
Turning on the heels of the leather boots, the man slid his traveling hood back over his head and returned the mask to his face. The conversation with Miss Ciara De'Vir having dread up many forgotten memories, he now longed for the peace of Lakeshire and the comfort of the Twin Oaks. "And perhaps a conversation with the Eternal Himself will be in my immediate future"
Leaping from the second story balcony, the man used the essence of wind to soften his landing upon the cobblestone below. He made his way for the Umbrae Moongate, taking the shrine to Compassion and heading from there straight into the town of Lakeshire. A few days in the forests of the Fairies and home of the Meer would do a lonely dark Meer good. |
