As the top of Castle Blackguard came into view, Vian could hardly contain himself. He had not been home since he left with his mother and sister as a small boy. Now he would return to Sanctus, and help defend the Kingdom as his father had.

It had taken weeks for him to convince his parents to let him go to Sanctus to join the military, and though he couldn't read his fathers thoughts on it, he knew his mother still did not approve.

"I'll show them, I'll show everyone" He thought to himself with a sly grin.

Vian Skyfire eagerly spurred his horse towards Sanctus. Visions of great war stories flashed through his mind as his excitement grew.

The boy had no idea the horrors he would soon face.
