It had been a busy but interesting night, thought Ronin. He had negotiated the purchase of some "tainted" silver, negotiated a temporary peace treaty and permanently disabled a highwayman or two along the road. Before heading home he stopped in the tavern in Mazewood, drinking a bit and chatting with old friends, and, as always, sizing up those who he considered potential enemies. When he left the tavern, he was satisfied with the results of his work, and felt a sense of accomplishment and well being.

Ronin returned to his home early in the morning, went to his private armory, removed his backpack and started to take inventory; a ritual he performed each day just before dawn. He counted the heal potions and then the refresh and then…….

“It’s gone! The Bow of Marius, it’s gone” he proclaimed. He quickly dumped all the items from his pack, breaking bottles and scattering items on the floor. It was nowhere to be found, someone had stolen the bow.

The Bow of Marius was the oldest keepsake in Ronin’s possession; it dated back well over a thousand years and was a symbol of the office which he held. Once belonging to the Antediluvian that sired Marius and held by Marius until he was diablerized by Ronin, the bow had become not only a symbol for the office but a symbol of the rebirth of the Cappadocian Clan.

The Cappadocian Clan has always been known amongst other kindred for their discipline in Auspex and this would hold true on this day. Sensing a rage in Ronin stronger than they had ever felt the members of the clan began appearing at Ronin’s home.
