Elaith de Sharel, of House Sharel, masters of Umbra, often toured through his city. The rest of the nobility was loathe to deal with the common folk, but Elaith found respite in walks through Umbra. The sight of it, the smell of it, it gave him a feeling no drink nor spell could replicate.

The night was cold and dark. The sun had long since fled, and the moon cowered behind the clouds, afraid to show its face. A single raven flew overhead, calling into the night.

Elaith pulled his cloak tightly about his body to keep the cold at bay. At the stroke of midnight, he departed.

While the rest of Sosaria slept, Umbra bustled with activity. The Dead require no rest. Merchants hawked their wares, peasants milled about, and beggars prostrated themselves in the street. A typical night in Umbra.

Elaith began at the North end of Umbra, near the manor home of House Sharel, and casually strolled towards the east. As recognition showed on their faces, the peasantry cowered in fear, terrified to show any signs of disrespect. Elaith accepted no mistakes.

The clouds parted, and the moon appeared overhead. Elaith's white hair sparkled in its glow, and the jewelry he wore shined like a beacon in the night. The raven called again, and then fell silent.

Elaith paused a moment, and reached into his pouch.
"Kal Xen Bal!" he exclaimed, as his chosen spell was put into action
His favorite familiar, a dark wolf, appeared from the shadow of night.
Elaith firmly patted its muscled neck, and the wolf purred in delight. With his new companion in town, he headed towards the east, and Charnel Hill.

Reaching Charnel Hill, Elaith stepped into the blackness of the cave. Allowing his eyes to adjust to the darkness therein, he ordered his wolf to stay at the entrance and watch for intruders. He knew the screams of agony, as the wolf tore into flesh and bone, would give him plenty of time to react.

"All glory to Oblivion!", He spoke to the apparent darkness.
"Etheng!", came a reply, as several cloaked figures stepped forward.

Elaith smiled coldly.

The Lich Lord had fallen.
Caina lay in ashes.
The Order was in utter ruin.
But as a moon rises and falls, so to does the Order.

A new age was dawning on Sosaria. The Skull would return.
