I was just wondering how many people out in the community roleplay a Drow, and what sort of Drow.

I play a Surface dwelling drow that is against the Underdark and Lloth. I do not hate drow though, unless they are belligerent followers of Lloth. I understand the common language and can speak it fluently, I choose not to though, because I despise any sentient that is not Drow.

Again, just seeing how many people out there play a Drow, and what their style is.

Hope to see more Drow rp.

I play a half drow. Ceinwyn despises Lloth and looks down on those who worship her. She also has a hatred of spiders, though it is unrelated, and she will kill any she sees on sight. Worship of Lloth and other deities is prohibited in Umbra.

Drow are welcome to our dark land, there is no sun in Malas.

Ceinwyn is fluent in Common and can speak "enough" drow.

She spent a long time hating humans and the human half of herself.

I play Barl De'Abreago, A drow turned lich that champions the cause of necromancy in a very devout way.

He dislikes all religions, be they lloth, vhearun, oblivion, etc - and instead trusts magic.

Barl speaks drow and common, although he doesn't have much contact with other drow so it is rare he speaks it. He deals with a lot of different beings as he teaches and devotes himself to necromancy.

Fairly individual, he is still very drow like in the sense that he beleives other races to be inferrior, but doesnt really care more or less about any other drow either.

Oh man, drow roleplay was fun with the ease of translation from the drow translator... But did I ever want to strangle non-drow characters that had some poor excuse to suddenly speak fluent drowish because they stumbled upon/were linked to the drow translator website. I could cram their emoted "*pulls out drow-to-english translator book*" right up their arses. As if the drow peddled their language to lesser creatures for a bit of gold.

I guess I'm trying to say that drow roleplay was extremely fun for me, except until it was ruined for me by others trying to steal the spotlight at the cost of others fun, roleplay and immersion. Kind've like what happened to my urge for UO/Atlantic as a whole. Razz

A toast to the good times and bad times of drow roleplay; the intrigue and interesting personalities and society they have and how fun it is to portray, and the asshats who stomp all over you because they found the translator website.

I RP Vaen as knowing the basics of Drow. Pretty much what you'd learn in the first year of a language class in high school (but he's learned this over 15 years of being exposed to them, not 8 months of a class).

He can pretty much:
- Say hello
- Say goodbye
- Ask how you are
- Respond to the above question
- Ask where the bathroom is.

Phyrra is half drow and very naive so to speak of the drow heritage. She does however know how to speak drow and for the most part knows how hated and cruel drow can be. She tries to not be so hated, but she does have her moments. Smile Call it that drow heritage coming through at times I guess. For the most part she does not consider herself drow, although her obvious traits tell otherwise, which at times can cause a lot of problems for her. She was raised as a normal human, and over time learned more of her drow heritage so at times she doesn't understand the hatred some have towards her, but also understands to a point and it upsets her and causes her a lot of distress.

Just an added note.. this is the second drow I've RP'd and I love it. I have to admit that my first one was a bit more fun because she was full drow but drow RP is definately a good deal of fun. And can be a lot different than just the normal stuff.

Another half drow here. *smiles* Ciara was raised by both her human mother and her very drow father. She was raised to know both cultures, so as a child was fluent in drow as well as common, but her drow is rusty, having been born and bread in Umbra, where it is seldomly used. As far as one being better than the other, she embraces both sides with pride. Her parents are still happliy married, and have encouraged their children to have open minds. Though, if you ask her, her father's the meaner one. Twisted Evil

Oh, and no, she doesn't study any deity. Again, Umbran. Though, as for spiders, well, her spider comes in bunny form. Shocked

Going to do some talking for my children, here.

Ceinwyn's offspring have a bit of drow. She made sure they learned to speak it when they were children. This includes Myrddin, Haydn, and formerly Maelwyn. They rarely use it, having not so many to use it with, but they still know it.

I am curious my friend. Do you roleplay a drow that hates everything lloth but is still very much drow to the core? Or do you role play a drow that rebels against everything drow?

I play a Drow that hates anything that has to do with Gods or Godesses, namely Lloth. He is not for anarchy per say but survival of the fitest. Sort of like a Sith like mentality.

He doesn't hate structure or order though.

I'm not looking to start a Drow guild or anything at the moment, but I would like to get with some open minded people and hammer out some excellent rp. Bae'vin and myself have been rping for a while, and I love the drow rp, but I want more lol. I would love to see a lot more.

I used to play a drow, a Lloth follower at that. But I have been sort of out of that mood of chaotic evil intent that "Faith" had. Faith is Ciara's wicked aunt by the way. Razz

I played X'eros for a while too. He was evil as well, but no where near as "out of control" like Faith. He used to serve in Umbra.

Korith is X'eros's halfbreed son, twin of Ciara. I think I might try to play him again, but not sure as of yet. I finished working his skills for now, so I will have to think more of it.
