A richly clad man presses through the crowd that usually forms in the town square at noon day and ascends the platform. Unfurling an ornate scroll he clears his throat…

“Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Kind citizens of the Realm!

The Good Lady Sarah De’Fiona du Oryan, Queen of the Nujel’m Empire greets you on this wondrous day.”

Clearing his throat once more and widening his stance some the crier continues…

“In celebration of the birth of the heir to the Empire of Nujel’m, Ameer Najm Oryan, Prince of Nujel’m, Lord of the Golden Vessel, and son to the Queen and Regent,” the announcer takes a deep breath before continuing.

“There will be royal banquet followed by a royal ball.” Pausing he scans the crowd and sees their faces light up with interest. With new enthusiasm he continues, “The Queen sends out appeals for musicians, entertainers, chefs, gardeners, and ones with the knowledge of the art of fireworks…..” Again he pauses as the crowd “Ahhs and Ohhs” at the last mentioned item. Clearing his throat to gather their attention again, “Anyone possessing such skills and knowledge need to contact the royal house immediately. There will be a post tacked upon every town square with contact information.”

Looking over the crowd once more he adds, “The Queen, the Regent, the Heir and the Queen’s Council will announce the time and date as soon as the Plague has been arrested and cured. The celebration will mark the new era of trade, commerce and tourism to the Empire as well as a new beginning to the De’Fiona-Oryan family! That is all.”

With a well rehearsed flourish the announcer goes to the town’s posting board and nails up the contact information.

“INTERESTED AND SKILLED PERSONS PLEASE CONTACT THE EMPIRE BY PIGEON. THE NUMBER IS 17563831.”
