Nightshade walked to the temple, pausing to stare up at it. Her arm burned and she rubbed the mark. Myrddins anger pulsing, or perhaps it was his hidden worry. It mattered not, she was Nightshade, she would do what she had always done. It made her strong, it made her the woman he loved.
Walking inside the temple her slippers padded across the hot marble floor, lava rivers rushing along the sides. The temple of the Xornite was a mystical place, small but adequate for what was needed. It was also very hard to navigate, getting to the top almost impossible if you did not know the way like the Cabal did.
Staring at the tall pillar of blackrock, a treasure most prized she moved silently past it to hear the cries of Mimus as he came swooping down. It would be the last time they met. She stared at him, he was going to die and she new it as she ran her hand across his feathery head. Yet change, tho sad was necessary and she would not bring him back this time. His gift to the Gryfiths about to come to fruition.
To Zephryn fly my pet, and in her mind she told him, Do not look back...
The flapping wings faded in the distance as she turned and walked to the alter kneeling before it she uttered blessing unto the Xornite , meditating in this quiet moment.
She smelt him and felt him, yet she had known all along he would come that he was there... Her attacker was unknown but he hated her kind. He hated all those of Kindred. He wanted to destroy her.
Hiya doll......
A fight ensued, she had to make it look good and it was hard not to afflict her strongest poison on the man.
It was hard to hold back. Yet she did as she appeared to weaken, and at last her hand let slip the Toymaker Kryss from it. This was a calculated mistake. She was now weaponless, and tho she chanted words that would bring a spell to her she gave it no heart and his warfork pierced her.
The kryss was meant for her daughter Willow, It would be safe there...
Nightshade had fallen....Jon Strathmore had her now...She would see Dethn soon... _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence... |

"The Isle of the Avatar is where you will find the vampiress Nighstshade, I want her alive." Said the man across the table from me. Though I did not know him, he some how knew me. A mistake I would not let happen again. "Alive!?! But she is one of them.." I said. "Have no worries, she will die, take comfort in knowing that." I nodded and begrudgingly accepted his mission. "I can assure you, after I have what I need from her she will die." I nodded as he left private dinning room at the Mazewood Tavern.
It didn't take me entirely too long to find Fire Island, with a few cryptic hints here and there I got a map and was on the shores there in no time. Fortune prick me, for luck just happened to be on my side. I had happened to arrive just in time to see a woman with green hair that matched the man's description heading into a village. I strayed back, watching, Not tonight, but soon. I thought as I followed her.
Deeper into the village revealed a site of sites, it was a temple made of stone, jutting up out of the ground. She entered, but I did not follow her inside. When I poked my head in there was pools of lava to both sides of the walk way. And I could not see her any where. This does not bode well. Crossed my mind.
I stalked her for days, and she repeated the pattern of going to the temple. I knew that timing was everything, years of hunting this sort of the undead allowed me the knowledge that, "Only fools rush in." I said quietly. I idly rubbed my right shoulder, the pain was gone after the healing that Xana had preformed on me, but I would always remember the feeling I had when I was bound to the wall by the spear of the vampiress that had slain my family. This is how I now would make atonement for my wife and son.
I entered the temple, I knew she would be here soon, so I made my way to the top and hid behind some pillars that appeard to be made of obsidian. I crouched in my dark hooded robe, pulled down to shield my eyes, my face was already hidden behind the mempo I wore to protect my neck from being sunken into by whom I hunted.
As I knelt there, I said a little prayer to Justice to give me the strength that I needed to accomplish my task. Just as I finished up, she was there, chanting something that I couldn't make out. She got on her knees and said some words at the alter, and then she began her chants once more. I've had just about enough of this! I thought anxiously. Slipping from behind the pillars that had me covered I approached her slowly. "So you're the wench he told me about." I said with a touch of anger in my voice.
"Hello Doll... And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" It was the first time I heard her voice, it sounded sadisticly sweet. "My name is not of importance, you'll not be needing it where you're going." I said calmly. As I continued my slow march forward, I crossed my arms and reached into my cloak and placed a firm grip on the war fork that I had used so many times before. Silver, is what I liked to think it's name was, Silver due to the fact that its blades were made of silver. If it truly efftected the creatures I used it on, I was unsure, but its comfort I did seek.
"I won't go easily, you fool!" She hissed, and in a flash she produced a kryss. "Nay, they never do." Sadness tinged my voice as I said that, I then removed Silver from his shelter, from within my cloak. And soon the fight ensued. I charged her head on to test her strength, and see how I would have to counter her methods. A foolish thing that was, she slashed at me and her blade bit into my flesh. "ARAAAAGH!" I cried, Poisoned blade, never would have seen that comming. I thought as I shivered, the poison quickly seeping into my body. Instinct kicked in, "Expor Flamus, Expor Flamus." I concentrated as I chanted, and soon the fire washed over me cleaning the toxins from my body.
"I'm a poisoner! Thats why he wants me..." She hissed at me. It was not matter to me, I took my comfort in the fact that she would be dead soon, and that was enough for me to continue on. She put a pulpit between us, and out of anger I kicked it at her, the book atop arced through the air thudding against the wall behind her.
"You will persih, vile fiend." I roared. "Never! My soul lives on in the toys!" She screamed fiercely to me. It was her turn to do the charging, and in mid charge she dropped her kryss, and began slidding towards me. I simply held Silver out and pierced her gut with his tips, I quickly pulled him out and knocked her across the face with the steel haft of the fork, and she dropped like a sack of rocks.
I bent down and went to scoop her up and put her onto my shoulder, but she decided to get her teeth into my neck, and kick me in the groin. Gasping for air I droppped her, and then let my foot dance into her ribs a few times. After being satisfied with that, I bound her hands tightly with some hemp rope that I had in my backpack. To add insult to injury I grabbed her by that lovely green hair, and tugged her out of the temply by it.
Outside there was a note on the stairs of the temple that I hadn't noticed when I was entering. I opened it up and it read:
East, hug the wall of the temple and you'll see me.
It was odd but some how I knew that it had to be the man from the tavern. I picked it up, folded it neatly and put it in my beltpack. Then I removed a gauntlet, placing my index finger and thumb into my mouth I whistled in a high pitched voice and Stepper came to me. I pulled a necklace of cloved garlic from his saddlebags and tied it around her neck for my peace of mind. It didn't seem to bother her, but I wasn't going to take any chances. And not taking chances, this time I picked her up from behind, by the waist, and placed her belly down Stepper, tying her hands to her feet under his belly I felt an urge to begone from this village.
It was nearing midnight when I reached the wall of the daemon temple, I placed a hand over and scruffed Stepper's nose to keep him comfortable. And then there he was, standing in the darkness, waiting patiently. "Cut her down, and bring her to me." She started sputtering nonsense so I began pummeling her jaw with my fist, until I heard a loud crack and a tooth fly out of her mouth. Assuming she was unconscious I cut the rope and pushed her head over, off from the horse. She crashed to the ground, and I drilled her in the ribs once more with the toe of my boots.
I grabbed her by the ankle and pulled her before the man and asked, "She is the one you wanted, yes?" He nodded and smiled a smile that never touched his eyes. "As we agreed upon." He pulled a fat purse of gold from his coat and threw it at my feet. I looked down at it and sniffed out of disdain. "I told you, it was never about the gold." I said, leaving the purse where it lie, I mounted up and rode off.
Another one taken care of, soon I will have my own revenge. |

The night air of the island hung heavy with the mist from the ocean. A warm, humid, and acrid jungle air. She was limp in his arms, a burden gladly borne and happily more jaunted.
The table of his lab accepted her body with cold, grasp fingers of leather, ensheathing her arms and tugging her head to the granite slab.
Everything was set and her womb waited patiently, with the unwillingness of the owner.
Setting his fingers upon her stomach his words were short and in her state he knew not if she heard...
But with a smile twisted and corrupt by the years and the pain in his heart, Jon smiled to her. "You do not understand the gift you offer me..."
With that he turned, and began his preparations for the night to come.
Preparations for his night, future, guest, and witness... |
