Minoc...

The night air hung shallow, a light sea breeze sweeping the city, the dust of rock and ore kissing the wind, from the nearby mines.

A cloud of dust rose in the air oppressing all other senses...

Moments ago the explosion shook the city, devices set at the base of all statues throughout the town. The largest coming from the center near the bank.

Their foundations shook at the fire, and shrapnel kicking up and about, shaking and teetering, cracking but not collapsing.

A grin crossed Malorn's lips neath his mask as the ball of fire climbed into the air.

"Comrade, we must hurry." Seth tugged at his arm and with a turn of the head they gathered the rest of their equipment and were off, disappearing from whence they came, silently into the night.

The Statues, the structure, swaying in their wake.

----
Britain...

Common smog of human inhabitance... the bane of the world, chocked the streets as they moved into position.

The Castle atop the hill, the castle ruling all others, and controlling all else.

His breath held, the crystals in his hand... He waited for the doors to open and a distraction for his entry. Walking blatantly into position, walking as if he belonged, a fate he'd never suffer. Crueler than death... Control.

Seth's message consumed their speakers, straight from the crystals that should have broadcast their mundane, blared the New, the Necessary.

And it shook the congregation. They searched, but they need not search long, the two took it of themselves to be revealed.

"Listen to my message and we will go away... Peacefully. If you do not... We will still go away..." His words spoke straight from his lips and into Isk's ears. His eyes measuring the Regent. Malorn stood to the rear, fending off any would-be attackers with a promise, a promise concealed in the harness of explosives they both wore.

"We stand for something greater, for all the people that your time tramples over blindly.

We are freedom."

Isk retorted with some worry but with conviction... "I am Freedom!"

The message was being ignored, and the time had come. The potion Malorn had been fingering was pulled, and the harness ignited, an explosion and flame washing over him and all near.

Seth soon played his own Chord. "WE ARE WILLING TO DIE!!!"

With that note struck, a fiery blast washed over the crowd surrounding him.

The bodies were badly burned, to the point of little recognition if not for the masks they wore. The mask, the inverse of the Magnates. Stone-hard porcelain, though black as the night sky, ever twisted into the grin the Magnate would never wear. Their bodies were dragged from the castle and tossed down the stairs.

Moments had passed, foot steps washing over the crystals still linked to the room of the gathering.

And then the words were spoken. "Are you well Comrade?"

At the words, the link was broken with the shattering of a crystal...

Syrinx....the voice whispered softly. Syrinx wake up... She was in a daze. Eyes like blue stars fluttered open and she looked up the ceiling giving no clue as to who called her name. That name...

Her head turning she felt a violent wave of nausea take her and she doubled over her stomach clenching in pain. She had been poisoned. She new it immediately. She shuddered as her empty stomach upsurged and caused her to heave violently yet nothing...

Beads of sweat upon her brow, she had to get up, she had to move, she knew instantly she was in danger...

A songbird began to sing outside her window and she focused on its melody gritting her teeth withstanding the burning poison in her body rising. They were trying to slow her down, they were indeed trying to kill her. Somehow they had gotten to her food and that meant they were close.

The bird twittered happily and she thought of how she longed for the cool sweet air and pushed herself out the door of her small rented room exhaling deeply a gust of wind rewarding her for her strength. She was already late and she wouldnt be able to join the others

Thankgoodness she had awakened, she stumbled towards the healers stopping every few moments to shudder and heave and dropped upon their floor. The room spinning around her, her hand stretching out to touch nothing. The Songbird still singing softly in the back of her head as healers rushed forward quickly administering an antidote and tucking her into a bed.

She was safe for now but she would miss it all...so much had been planned. The songbird quieted she could hear its wings flapping against the breeze as it flew away..
