There is a flat stone lying against the wall next to the door leading into the inn of Sanctus. There is a full moon painted on it with ground plants. It reads
"Friends... Despite my allying with the vampire clans, I have no hard feelings against the people of Sanctus. I consider you my friends still, but I will not stand idly while vampires are being mistreated by the protectoreate. They are unlike normal undead such as zombies and skeletons which cannot think, or have a conscious. They are beings with rights of their own. They may drink blood, but they do it for survival. Do animals war simply because a rabbit does not like being eaten by a wolf?"

At the bottom is a carving of a lizardman, and under it the name 'Oldscale'.

Malic walks up and reads the stone. "hmmmm...Lizards and Vampires together. Even stranger than most would think!"

He calmly walks to his office and begins to write on a parchment.

Our friend the Lizard,

You may decide to ally with these creatures. We however do not see them as you do. I have dealt with vampires many times and only one ever seemed to be desireable. Know this our scaly friend. If you chose to surround yourselves with those who prey on the innocent and attack our allies...you too shall be hunted in the same way as your friends. You have my word on this.
