his poem made me think of one I wrote when I was about his age ... although I was not trying to impress any woman in particular ... I just wrote it as what I thought would be a good seduction poem...

When you are gone
The days shall slumber
Like an Olympian god,
And I shall think upon it.

My heart will fly away
With you then, and
Rotate sporadically about you,
As a satellite of friendship.

You know you will be
Missed like innocence
Is so often yearned for,
Your presence a calming salve.

I can only hope that my
Amateur words can convey
To you the magic I have
Seen while being with you.

Soar high into life like
A scarlet dove, and
Spread your beauty about,
For you shall reap a harvest.

You will reap all that you
Have sown in kindness and love
As the ones you touched
Return your bountiful gift.

Always give of yourself
And the world will soon
Give to you who shed
Your caring light of warmth.

Would that I could follow
You all my days, I think
My life to then be complete
For in your wake is love.

You take with you a
Special part of me, and
I give it freely to your
Caring, quietly strong hands.

I could say I love you
But that has been said
Before so I shall only
Wish you well in life.

Until our souls dance again,
I shall remember the beauty
Of our meeting and wear it
Like a shield of protection.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
now if you really wanted to make fun of a poem.. here's your chance.
