i wrote this about 3yrs ago decided to share it here.


MEMORIES OF A FORGOTTEN PAST
by Larry Valdez

memories of a forgotten past
sorrows buried deep beyond the grasp of my soul
the child's breathless screams
the mother's intense cry
the windless night, the darkened sky
you walk with the angels now
peace and calmness is all you know


memories of a forgotten past
the laughter we shared
the joy and the good times we knew
your heart beats in time with mine
the tears flow freely now
pain and suffering is no more


memories of a forgotten past
the lonely path less traveled
the echoes of a past untold
with love and commitment
our union does exist
as time passes my memory
will not fade, for you are my love
you are my life
you are the one
