"Yes, yes...yes I know. It was rather anticlimactic wasn't it? Ooh, aye, it seems like such an important event would be better highlighted by the author. Hmm? You know, it was a bit like a fleeting thought, like it was almost meant to be so unnoticed that it was profound.

Seth chuckles...turning to the shimmering image of himself in the pale blue water. A sweet scented burrow of utter silence, untainted by man, but at the same time, a horrible slithering tentacle was seeping into an otherwise tranquil setting.

"Our poor Seth, sitting on the banks of the Dead Lake of Umbra, talking to his own image as if reviewing his own life as a playwright would a script shortly before revision. Ooh? I suppose I do owe you enough of an answer to entice you into the next act don't I? I good Lord or Lady, have no name, nor do I take any certain roll in the ongoing events of this man's life. I am simply here to narrate the doings of our confused Seth, and to add a certain bit of clarity to this play. I suppose would could assume I am some preternatural sense of being that you and only you posses, or call me a poor plot device used to forward the antics of our object of focus. I do wish more could be revealed presently, I suppose my occupation as usher in this exploration of the an evolving mind has been rather lax. I will allow you back to your doings now, but be sure, my role in this tale has not reached fruition as of yet."

*Splash*

SHUT UP! SHUT UP YOU IRRELEVANT FIGMENT OF MY MIND! YOU...YOU! CHARLATAN! YOU UNEDUCATED..

Sighing in pure desperation, Seth makes for the road, stopping abruptly to spin backwards, yelling a random tangent of curses at the still rippling water. His eyes seem off, the pupils so wide they seem to dominate his otherwise mundane eyes. Pulling his chin to his chest, his hands pull at his hair slightly as he groans in displeasure, the smallest trickle of red running down his glistening brow as he turns again, making for the road.

Why?! Why did I...it wasn't much, *mumbles of mixed penance and regret follow the fading image of Seth in both clarity and volume*
