Some people write poetry to express themselves. I found out recently, when I'm in a bad mood, writing fables helps me get through it. I was in a bad mood all today, so I've been writing up a storm. Here's a few of my favorites...
The Cat and the Beetle
An elegant cat was walking through the fields when he came upon a beetle. "You are so ugly," the cat spoke to the beetle, "You will never be as lovely as I." The beetle, complacent in his demeanor, said to the cat, "It is true in beauty and grace you have me beat, but how often does one have a pet beetle?"
The Mantis
An ant crawled along the ground when he came across a mantis. The mantis said to the ant, "I am so tall, I can see much farther then you." Then a raccoon walked from the brush and said, "You are not so tall, mantis, your sight is as short as you are."
The Wolf and the Ant
A lone wolf saw a large ant hill, one that which towered over the wolf's head. The wolf asked an ant, "How do the ants, small as they are, build something so great?" The ant replied, "Unlike you, wolf, we ants work together. As a group we are able to build such massive structures." The wolf replied, "I do not understand, why would you not each build a separate hill, so as to cover more ground?" The ant laughed at the wolf and said to him, "You were not created to understand, it is not in your nature."
I've got dozens of these things now. For whatever reason, writing them helps calm me down. Matter of fact, just flipping through them now calmed me down a bit. _________________ I have no idea what you are talking about.

I loved the Cat and the Beetle. It was really very deep. Aesop quality even. _________________
