for those of you that would like to compete in this, either respond here or in private, but if you want to compete, and don't want your name known, just give me name I can list for the brackets.
Poet is in the process of creating a Bardic Collegium. Perhaps Thrax will include it as part of his university.
However, I plan to teach classes in Minstreling to people that want to be bards.
The Trials are something you can attempt at the minimum of 3 times a calendar year. If more want to be involved, I can bump it up to more times.
For the trials (which will also count as qualifying trials for the Sosarian Community Games) you will need to be willing to perform in two of the three competitions.
one will be actual composition of the bard, can be performed as song, poem, oratory.. bard's choice
one will be interpretation of traditional work (this means someone else's lyics. As long as you fit it to Sosarian standards.. no anachronistic references.
the third category will be Extemporaneous. You will be given a subject and a random choice of pro or con, and then given 10 minutes to prepare a discourse based on your choice.
All performances should be limited to 5 minutes for the first two and six for the Extemp.
My advice to time you presentation, set you speech time to 100, and then do not repost until previous line disappears. Unless you want to slip in an emote to give flair to your performance.
If any are interested, respond here or in PM.
=====================
for the record, bards will only have to compete in 2 of the 3 as long as you get a combined score of 8, you can be admitted to the Collegium.
Scores will be this way:
1st place is 5 points
2nd place is 4 points
3rd place is 3 points
4th place is 2 points
It will be up to you which events you want to participate in.
Do let me know if this interests any of you. _________________ "He's been fired from the Shrimp Boat?" -- Charlaine Harris "Living Dead In Dallas." |

I definitely want to include that as an Academy class when it gets going. I am holding off for a bit mainly due to the Moonglow event.
Feel free to use the building for your classes in any event. It is all set up to go. Sid said it had a sort of Hogwart's feel to it. There is an arena atop for any kind of sparring/practice sessions, and being in Felucca, you don't have to worry about highlighting. |
