Ishtar finished her offerings of incense and fruits lain at feet of the shrines in honor of Thrax's parents. Though she never knew them, she felt they deserved this traditional honor bestowed upon them in her culture. It was early morning and the quiet was a nice change for the priestess. Her eyes turned to the sea and the gentle breeze as it made the flowers upon the rooftop garden rustle. Peace as of late was rare among the political turmoil that surrounded Sosaria.

Oh politics, how she loathed them. The latest rabble from whomever this new self-proclaimed agent of Lord British had been entertaining at best, at the most he was a squatter who led a flock of sheep. The few public proclamations she had read, dripped with arrogance and disdain and she hoped those who followed this pseudo-regent would soon see him for what he was, a fop of a noble driven by greed. Nobility, she had known many that considered them selves such, yet few showed true noble qualities.

Over time and in her travels, she had seen more valor and courage from a farmer using a pitchfork to fight against monsters to save a favorite horse. No fear, just determination to protect what he felt was his. On the other side of such, she had seen Kings hide within castle walls and send out their subjects to die for them in battle without so much as lifting a finger or even a sword to do so on their own. Their men merely pawns, disposable lives upon the battlefield. Acts such as this she found disdainful and cowardly.

Turning her gaze to the few lingering camps around Whitehall, she was proud of her husband. He had made some truly selfless decisions for the people of Yew. In her mind he was a noble among men, as he did was what right and good and acted without selfishness. It makes you think about what defines who you are, one can wear titles like clothing, but they are just that, titles. What makes a man noble are his actions, the things that define us. It is how we rise tot he occasion when life throws obstocles in our way. The ability to triumph and overcome with dignity and honor, and without deceit and violence. That is rare among "nobles" as most feel thing should be handed to them upon a silver platter, and not earned.

Even Thrax, though he expressed his lack faith in the Virtues has, as of late, shown more Virtue with his latest acts then he would more than likely admit. His choice to bring back the Commonwealth was selfless and was an example of compassion for his people. There was honor in what he did but sacrificing his nobility to better serve their will. Though he still was nobility, he would prefer to be known as a person and a man than as a Baron or Prince. Yes, she was very proud of him. Who would have thought, that he would have become this man?

In the past she remembered their first meeting, as it was hardly pleasant and their conversation more resembled a sparring match than the ones they have now. She despised him when she met him in Papua that late afternoon. Time has a way of changing people like the tided change a coastline. Years later, when she ,et him again she did so reluctantly and only because of her sister. Yet, he was not the same, he was charming in a roguish way. It was a side she never thought she would see, yet here she is now wed to him and the mother to their children. Even she had changed, far less reckless and wild than she was years before. She was happy at how her live had evolved into what it is now.

Her reflections and thoughts were short lived as her house awoke. Her children's jovial laughter pulled her from them as she saw run up to her and embrace her. Nothing to her was more important than family, as children were special gifts. She hugged them tightly while Poppy began calling them to eat breakfast so they could begin their day and a promised trip to the Zoo in Moonglow. Perhaps she would go with them, and shrug off her duties for a day. She turned to follow them, yes she would, life was too short and days such as these too infrequent...
