Swiping massive claws back and forth wrecking havok on furniture, scrapes of stone, people that got in his way. Screaming out in deep gutteral roars.
This lasted for a few hours a day each day since his order to fall back into Cove.
"Failed me. Loyalty. Stength. Order. People. Soldiers. Allies. Myself. All. All have failed. All have failed me. All... My plans, my..." Another fury of destruction arose.
"What honor do people have, what loyalty... none... I see none... I have grown weak as what my daughter suggested... but it was only now that I realise what it is..."
He spotted a servant huddled behind some broken funiture. The beast quickly went towards him and roared mightily. The wind and stench on his breath moved his hair and saliva dripped from his fangs onto the now even paler servant.
"Everything failed me, everything must prove their worth."
"Why is this place untidy? Why is there no order in my own home after several days? You have failed me."
Tarothin reached down with one of his extended fingers to press it on the servants forhead. Only then to apply pressure until the sharp claw penetrated the skull to sink into his brain. The servant was too afraid to even speak in defense. Another thing that irritated Tarothin. He failed me in this regard as well. To much of a coward to stand for that what he may have thought in difference.
Hooking the finger upward and lifting his arm in a tug, he threw the limp corpse against the opposite wall.
"Failed..... failed... failed...."
A sudden calmness washed over him. "No more."
"I will rip everyone's rank away from them to start a new. All will be squires under the Dark Knight. The strong survive yes.... the strong control... the strong lead over the weak..."
"Only those worthy and strong and loyal beyond a doubt will now rise above others. Only those with exceptional skill will lead above others. "
"There will be no weakness. I will not tolerate any more failure..."
"All failed me... even myself... but no longer... It is time to breed strong knights. And in turn they will each take a squire to train and guide and as a whole... " He left it off there. "The Order will rise again."
"I will not... tolerate any more... failure.."
"Who would be a worthy first squire I take in..." |

She stared out over the battlements. The furious noises brought upon by her husband reverberated throughout the entire keep, and even up here, they carried & drifted on the wind.
Ditto pulled her cloak tighter round her shoulders, to fight back the chill that traveled her spine and gazed downward toward the Lake of Blood. She could see Imryrr's silhoutte standing so close to the cliff's edge, looking down. Her daughter had been there for hours. Silent. No brother nor sister dared approach her, just like none dared approach the Keep itself.
All of the Armunns seemed to be having their own form of inner turmoil. She, with the chaotic side effects of elven magic. Imryrr with her self loathing. And Tarothin, with his fury at the world. Almost everything he'd relied on, seemingly turned against him.
She knew she couldn't wave a magic wand and make all their problems go away, but,...she could try to make things easier. More comfortable maybe. Ditto knew well enough that even she should stay away from Tarothin when he was in a rage like this one. But, there were other things that she could do for him. Maybe not as important as winning a war. She wanted to do what she could to help ease the situation.
The Dark Lady re-entered the interior of the upper keep floors and set to work, making sure she stayed away from the lower floors where things seemed to take on an eerie quiet. She wasn't sure if the rage was over and dark contemplation had set in, or, if it were but a lull in activity. The first area was the bedroom. The first victim... her bright pink skinny tree. Taro hated that tree.
Motioning to the window, the shutters opened and with her other hand, another quick sweeping motion and the tree was thrown from the window in one violent, telekinetic swipe.
An hour later, a heap of brightly colored plants and flowers piled high beneath the windows of Keep Armunn. Along w/ sweet and brightly colored nik-naks that she had acquired overtime. The small few remaining pieces were concentrated in one corner of the bedchamber. Presents that had been from Taro himself. Those things would stay. Keep Armunn was now darker in presence than it had ever been. She hoped it's setting would give comfort to her husband. With comfort, sometimes came calmness. And with calmness, came a steadier mind.....she hoped.
A smile finally reached her lips and she crawled into the bed for her night's sleep. _________________ **************************************
