She asked around to a few people in Magencia of this Terothin, and just how she might contact him without loosing her head or someone else loosing their life. She was told that he was married to a rather nice lady that might carry her message to him.

She formulated a plan. She spoke to the caretaker at the Museum who agreed to help. Using the table at the Museum, she opened her pouch, took out her quill and some parchment; the crest and some various gold rings for holding the parchments closed. She began to write two letters.

Greetings Lady Ditto Armunn,

I do hope this correspondence finds you in good health.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Devin Allison. I am a reporter for the Humanis Voice. The Magnate and my employer, Lord Isk of Magencia, has asked me to contact the Emperor Tarothin Armunn, your husband.

Due to the fate of many messengers over the past months, Lord Isk suggested I be careful in contacting your husband. I asked around and someone suggested you as a source to contact him, hence this parchment.

I realize this may be a tall order but if you would entertain, for a moment, this idea I have come up with, I will explain my request and this contact with you.

Enclosed you will find another parchment, complete with a gold ring and seal in place, addressed to the Emperor himself. I do not know what the relationship between you and the Emperor is but I do not wish to get you into trouble as the messenger, so if you could just place that parchment, complete with the seal unbroken, on his desk where he might find it in the daily mail, I would be most grateful. If you fear he may find out it was you then just return it unopened to me and I will find other avenues to attempt to reach him at a later date.

Your indulgence would prove to be most helpful in my assigned task.

Thank you in advance,

Devin Allison
Reporter, Humanis Voice

She begins the second parchment.

Your Majesty, Emperor Tarothin Armunn,

I wish to introduce myself to you. I am Devin Allison, a reporter for the esteemed paper, The Humanis Voice.

It is the wish of the Honorable Magnate, Isk of Magencia, that I interview you for his publication. If you would respond by your choice of communication to the Magnate's Museum in Magencia, I would be most grateful. The caretaker at the Museum will see that I get your post.

I would also wish to make arrangements for safe passage for any further communications regarding the interview, by what ever method you choose. Please advise me of the method you prefer.

Your humble servant,
Devin Allison,
Reporter, Humanis Voice

Carefully she rolls up the message to the Emperor and slides a gold ring over it. Using the candle on the table, she sealed it with the family crest. She then rolled it up inside the letter to the Lady Armunn. Taking a slightly larger gold ring she slid it over the two scrolls, she sealed that gold ring in place with the same crest.

She left the museum and prepared for a days journey to the Tokuno Islands, where she met with an acquaintance who promised to get the scrolls to a ninja he knew. She handed him the scrolls and instructed him to find the Lady Armunn and not to give them to anyone else. He nodded and took the scrolls as instructed.

She booked passage on a small trading ship headed to Nu'Jelm, her next stop, for the Interview with the Governor-Regent.

Enjoying the warm sun against the weathered wood of the main deck, she contemplated the past. She had been a refugee from the onslaught of unspeakable monsters and came back to a destruction she had never imagined could be. Lord Isk had been kind to her, giving her a job so she could try and rebuild what was lost. He clothed her and bought her supplies, he even gave her an advance on her first story so she could make her own way to the interview in Nu'Jelm. If her family had survived the invasion she might have ended up like most of the other women of noble birth, sitting around drinking tea and doing needlework in some parlor, as the men talked politics in the next room.

That all seemed forever ago now. A new life after horrible tragedy; and now, what will future hold for her, with this new found career. She smiled softly as she enjoyed warm breeze and the briny sea air as the small ship moved lazily over the calm waters, carrying her to the island of the Protectorate and the future. Not such a bad future she thought to herself.

Whether the letter was read or not, no one knows. The shadow wraiths since the comand from Tarothin to pull back into Cove and to abolish the failed Empire, have greatly intensified in the surrounding woods. They can see the colors of life from all those living as plain as day. THose foolish to think they can stealth past only find out in pain and horror that the wraiths know where they are, just for the simple fact that their life gives them away.

*Days later..the question of if anyone knew or not if the letter had been read was answered..*

Running naked & giggling through the dark treeline of DarkCove's forest, a petite, figure stopped suddenly when the glint of gold struck her attention. Bending down ladylike, she brushed her soft white hair from out of her face to see the object clearer.
"Oooo. A shiney!"
Picking up the ring and the letter, Ditto unrolled the parchment and began to read. At first, a wide smile caressed her heart-pouty lips, but it was soon replaced with a worried frown.
Turning back to go home and deliver the letter to her husband, she thought how much her "cuteness" enjoyed talking about himself, but to a reporter? and, in his recent foul mood? ...hmm risky.
She took only a moment to ponder why the letter had been on the ground where she found it. Perhaps the messenger got away this time, she hoped. But no one knew.
