The day was filling with sorting and unpacking. Tempt was trying to organize the last of the crates of her clothing that Poppy fetched for her. She liked trying to keep busy as it helped her not worry about the trivial unknowns from the loss of her memory. Though Scar was a great help, there were so many unanswered questions.

As she was taking out a pile of dresses a book fell from the crate and hit the floor. She put the dresses upon the bed and then picked it up, Virtue, by Lord British. Her hands felt the worn cover and she took a seat on the bed as she opened it. There were various notes on the tattered pages and she was finally able to recognize the handwriting as her own. Perhaps this was some more incite to her past, and she began to read the book.

Hours went by as she digested each word, each page. These were things that she felt were true to her heart. They were important and had depth and substance. Though she was told she worshipped gods, she felt these Virtues were part of her. She remembered her conversations with Scar as she put the book on her nightstand. He told her what he knew of Malic and why he himself stepped aside. When she asked him of her supposed fiancee's whereabouts he could not say much but the disdain was apparent in his reaction.

Her eyes glanced the clean sheets of Papyrus and the quill in the sitting room. She was told Malic was a man of virtue, but what virtuous man acts this way? She said she would give him time and he was running out. With her mind now made up she would write this man. With a somber importance she walked to the sitting room as her skirts rusted the stone floor. Taking a seat, she picked up her quill and pulled a sheet of Papyrus. The subtle scent of roses filled her nose and she noticed it came from the Papyrus, it was scented. The same scent in the perfume bottle in her room, this was a scent she must wear. Her eyes glanced the blank sheet again and now with deliberate strokes she began to write to him.

She let her eyes scan her words and felt she made her point clear. A knock came to the door an d she gently placed the letter upon the table to answer it. Scar entered and smiled, "Oh good you are up and about. I came to se if you needed any help." His dark eyes scanned the room and she could see he took note of the crates and scattered clothing until the rested upon her letter.

Before she could move to stop him he picked it up and read it. "I felt it was time.", was all she could say as she watched him.

"You mean to send this? Are you certain?", he asked.

She regarded his expression before she responded, "Do not hide you malcontent of his inaction to me. Though I know you wished me to be happy, I will not be haunted by this. If he is a man of his word he will act upon it. If he is not, which I seriously doubt, I have closed this chapter of my life."

Scar handed her the letter and she took it. He said nothing more on the matter and it seemed he knew her well as her mind was made and there was no arguing with her on the subject. He moved close to her and held her. "Very well, I understand and I support this decision as your friend. If you wish I will make sure it is even delivered for you."

She hugged him tightly then finished securing the note and returned it to his hand. Her green eyes deepened as she watched him tuck it away. Then she focused on the pile of dresses upon her bed, "I never knew I had this many clothes from your description of my work, I did not think they would be necessary."

He laughed, "Well you still are nobility, perhaps that is why, and though now you wear gowns more often than before I fancy you in them. Enough of that, today I want to take you to Papua, the people there know and love you and it may help with your memory. The perhaps if you are up to it on the morrow we can test your sword arm a bit.", he said to her grinning.

With that she took his hand and left the room. They walked out into the warm sun and the sea-salt air kissed her cheek and whipped her crimson locks about her face as he helped her upon her horse. "Prepared I see.", she teased him.

"Always."

The rode out to the moongate and thus she closed one chapter in her life to begin another. She resolved to herself her past would no longer decide her future regardless of what it may hold. She would live for the moment...
