The crisp night air fill's Junpei's lungs, bringing an all too familiar sensation. He stands alone in the quiet woods outside of Sanctus, still thinking of what a fool he made of himself at Umbra earlier that night. "It's coming back..." he thought to himself, but he quickly shrugs away the notion, picking up his belt and affixing it around his waist. To it he had just finished securing numerous small bags of sand, adding a suprising amount of weight as he wraps it around his stable hips. disrobed of his kamishimo, kasa, and tunic, Junpei jumps up into the nearest tree, grasping hold of a branch with his leather gloves and pulling himself into a crouched position atop it. After another deep breath, Junpei begins his training, leaping from tree branch to tree branch at a frantic pace, training both his physical dexterity and endurance, as well as his mental ability to identify a target branch that will support his weight for the brief period of time which he will spend upon it. Junpei has found the quick repitition of this exercise helps to decrease his hesitation in decision making.
"They're coming for you."
The words pierce through Junpei's skull, echoing around in his head and causing him to pause for a moment, crouch perfectly still as the branch he just landed on sways back and forth to disapait the momentum. After a few seconds, Junpei leaps once more, ignoring the comment as he tries to slowly re-establish his pace.
"They're going to kill you."
Junpei is struck hard, paralyzed in mid air. The branch sways as Junpei slips off it, missing his landing as he falls to the ground. The swishing of the leaves above is inturrupted by the thud of Junpei impacting on his left side, lying motionless on the ground. After minutes devoid of movent, Junpei finally drifts off to sleep, planning to gather his equipment when he wakes. _________________ The fish trap exists because of the fish.
