"Your Majesty,

Greetings,

I am forever indebted to you for your legal aid and for the confidence you placed in me to fulfill my word in helping to restore the Yew Commonwealth. The process goes well. We are presently defining the Articles that shall govern us. I have many good citizens who are helping with this and that is good.

One of these wise fellows pointed out to me a certain inconsistency that I believe I must remedy. He noted that, should I serve the Parliament, and even in the position as interim Prime Minister as I am set to do, my objectivity and/or loyalties could be compromised by my membership on the Regency council. While I do not believe I would fall to that temptation, I am doing all I can to disqualify all possible charges that my purposes are nefarious and self-serving.

It is not that I suspect you feel that way, but I am positive your rival does. (I am sending with this letter, those I have of his to me for your viewing pleasure. I am sure your Majesty needs a hearty chuckle from time to time to ease the day's tensions. You will find one or more in that material, I assure you).

Thus I must tender my resignation as a Regency council member and the position of Foreign Minister. On a personal level, I will continue to recognize your Majesty as the rightful, legitimate, government of Lord British in lieu of all others, and any that may appear. I only ask permission to attend the meetings to offer whatever counsel, advice, and aid should it be desired and sought.
