I had come across interesting information that I would like for you to take stock in. Something that shows how the Protectorate Leader views your lands and alliance.

The below is a copy of a letter that Adrien has sent to me.

Emperor,

Agreed. But if you win, I shall leave every territory alone save for Yew, Nujel'm and Mazewood. The rest of the dying facet would be yours for the pillaging

It seems he is more then willing to sacrifice Moonglow. I have in turn, not only offered to keep the peace with your nation but to also offer your nation more land such as Trammel Nujel'm and others.

How long can you stay with or even help a so-called alliance with the Protectorate when they care not for you or your land?

I have the original note in my hands should you desire to see it in person.

"Did you read this, Comrade?" Samon asked the red haired man. "I did, I did, Mayor, I am livid! the red haired man replied. "What is it we should reply with, Fong? I am leaving office soon, so I do not want to leave you all in an unworkable position with both the Protectorate and the Armunn Empire. "I honestly wish I knew. I will leave it up to you, Brother. Honesty will shine no matter what you decide though."

Chancellor Fong walked out of the room. Mayor Triest sat down at his desk. He pulled out a quill and ink, placing it to the paper already on the desk, he penned a reply.

============================================

Lord Armunn;

I am honestly saddened to hear such words have come from the Governor-Regent. As saddened as I am, I am not overly surprised. Verity Isle has been a target of dislike from the Protectorate and its members since day one when we stated clearly that we would not march on the Armunn Empire unless they were to strike the lands of Trammel and Malas with full force.

As you know, that is the agreement you and I made on that afternoon in the museum on Verity's own soil. I also still stand by my word. As you were able to see in the recent fight in Vesper, no man or woman from Verity Isle were on hand to attack your forces.

As far as Moonglow's place in the Protectorate, I wish you to know that Moonglow is an independent nation. While we are a part of the Protectorate, it is only to keep up with the current news and information within the realm. We are not a military power at the Regent's use. That you do not have to worry.

I will sum it up for you in this simple manner. As long as you adhere to our agreement, Verity will do the same. It is a simple and honest agreement I believe.

Also, before I forget, the Regent has also offered us Nujel'm on the Trammel facet. Of course, he only offers it to us IF we join the war against the Armunn Empire. Which is amusing, seeing as Moonglow are the ones who watch over it and patrol it on a regular basis. I am not overly worried about Nujel'm though.

I do hope whatever plans you have work at well. Well, that is if they do not involve Verity Isle and its' holdings. I wish you the best of luck, and I do hope you understand our stance on the matter.

Always Truth,

Samon Triest
Mayor of Moonglow
Man of Honesty
