Dear Empress,

I thought that I would take this opportunity to inform you that patrols throughout the islands have been initiated, and all appears to be well. There is more activity as of late, but it all appears to be innocuous and normal routine.

Members of your guard are actively training when not on duty, and I have the greatest confidence that when called upon they will be more than willing able and ready to serve.

I myself have spent a good deal of time in Felucca, when not on patrol in the islands. I have ridden into Minoc, Vesper, and even cove itself, and with the exception of the people that live and work in the region, I have not met a soul.

Towards yew, I had the great pleasure of encountering some murderers, and was able to practice with them for several hours tonight. It was great fun, but purely for the sake of honing my skills in defense of our lands and peoples.

Until such time as we meet again, I look forward to your correspondence.
