|
This is just a thought. Many players have alternate characters who they, in turn, also have alternate accounts for to post with (Crossroads mainly I'm sure). Is there any way one could link two accounts, maybe allowing the poster to choose their desired registered display name (if it is registered as a previous account)?
I know it's not a huge deal - just kind of annoying logging out and logging in. Then again, I am quite lazy...
If it's too complex to do, then there is no need. If there is a pre-existing option in the code, anyway we could work with this? _________________

I checked through the phpbb mods database and couldn't find anything like that, although if you can see something that I missed, I can implement it.
Here's all the mods that can be installed on the forum:

If you select "Search" you can search for different queries. |

A handy feature would be User Ignore.... I would love the ability to put another user on my ignore list, and all their posts would be invisible to me. Would eliminate some OOC BS and Flamefests dont you think? I did a search and there was a few listed. _________________ "Always speak the Truth even if it leads to your death." - Lord Godfrey |

I know I'm only one person here, but I don't know if I like the idea of User Ignore. It's not like we get random idiots in here going, "Lol, no0b! I'm pwned you! Gay! You suxxors! U R dum!" Or whatever.
Yeah, sometimes people get upset and argue, but everyone on here does RP stuff at one point or another. I'm still pretty new to this whole world you've set up here, but it doesn't seem like it happens often enough to put anyone on your ignore list.
Again, I'm only one opinion. _________________ I have no idea what you are talking about.

The thought of an ignore button on an RP board...
Yeah, agreed Sara. _________________

In theory, anyone mature enough to understand the true dynamics and mechanics of roleplay ought to be more than mature enough to simply ignore whichever users they do not wish to see.
In other words, I agree with Sara.

I agree with Sara Vaen and Kuja... If you need an ignore user option, create one in your brain and learn to ignore people that way. Everyone still has something important to say even if they don't say something important all the time. Ist a bad idea. |

Stepping out on a limb here...but I think Halister was making a joke when he asked to be linked to the user ignore feature.

I wasn't joking, I wanted to check the mod out for curiosity sake, although provided the feedback in this post, it's definitely not something I'll seriously consider adding now. _________________ "There are those who dream to escape reality, and there are those who dream to change it." |

On the topic of multiple accounts. If you find a mod where you can choose several display names. You need to find someone to keep people from imitating other people just by changing their display name. _________________
