I am sorry to have had to leave the proceedings before completion. I had come to observe and record notes and had to go search for ink, which I failed to bring along in sufficient quantity. I was detained for awhile by an old acquaintance and we began a bit of lively conversation that forced me to miss the remainder.

On a personal basis, I congratulate you on your election. I had no doubt you would be chosen. It is often left up to those who create the music to show the rest how it should be accurately played. I am certain you will do just that.
