When he awoke this morning, he was alone, his wounds partially healed. Even lycan have a hard time recovering from the slash of silver, and it will take many days to recover enough to hunt. What pains him more than the wounds he received on the coast of Moonglow last night was the loss of his pack. The men in blue uniforms slew all of his pack and knocked him unconscious. His brothers are gone. And it is all his fault.

His lack of control led him to the gathering of men. He should have kept his pack away. But there was meat there. Horses hobbled outside. The lure of fresh meat and warm blood drew him ever closer, if he had control of his facilities he would have gone no nearer those men than he would a rabid dog.

He makes a decision then and there. Unable to write himself, he calls for a scribe to take down letters to Molly, Ceinwyn, and Rryn, all three wise and knowledgeable women whom he trusts.

Dear Friend,

I am unable to come to you with this request in person, as I lay stricken by my lack of control. I am Lycan, and though some of you may see it as a curse, it is mine to bear, atonement to bear for either past or future sins. I must come to terms with that. Some of you might see this as a blessing, and in truth I hope that some day I might see it as so.

I fear that a cure is not possible, nor is one desired. I am asking you for your counsel and assistance. Can you help find some way for me to control my beast within, and it's urges? If you do not have the knowledge I seek, can you obtain it or point me in the right direction? I need to master this beast, or it will surely master me.

Sincerely,

Richard,
Thronos Rokke Clan, all that remains.

He has the scribe address each letter individually, and deliver to the ladies post haste.

She looks at the letter and taps her chin curiously. She then takes out a quill and ink and grabs a piece of parchment. She tells the messenger to wait and she begins to write a letter.

Richard,

I am afraid I am not well versed in Lican, but I will do some research as quickly as I can to try and aid you. Carring a burden like that can not be easy.

I am sending a small bottle of herb potion that aids in control. It was prepared for a friend who had a deamon posession. I also used this potion for Ragnar Teach, who was a known berserker, to help him calm his inner deamon. It may help you keep to your own mind until I can learn more of your condition. I will speak to the ancients and the pixies. They often have polices and potions that even elves and humans do not know of.

Take heart, I am sure there is something we can do.

Molly Kaldhel

She sealed the letter and handed it to the Messenger along with the potion, a small sack of gold and some biscuts with jam wrapped in a cloth. She refilled his waterskin and handed it back to him.

Take care not to break the potion bottle, it may be what will help until the solution is reached.

He nodded and left tucking the items into his pack carefully.
