She held the rose gently in her tiny hands and closed her eyes....

She smiled softly to herself thinking of her meeting with Miss Ivory. Following the behavior of her pets, she decided to take Cinnamara and Davaran's advice and pay a visit to Miss Ivory. If anyone could tell her what was happening, she could. She asked many questions of how Gwyn was feeling to which she answered each nervously. Following the questions, Miss Ivory informed her she was indeed with child and would have to use extra precaution. Plenty of milk and healthy foods, plenty of rest, and avoid riding her animals as the jostling motion would not be good for the child. Gwyn agreed and left Miss Ivory to continue her talks with Niall and Cecilia.

She made her way back home and found Marcus sitting in the garden. Kissing his cheek softly, she took her seat on the bench beside him. They had spoken a few days earlier based on Cinnamara's suspicions. He was not displeased at all, rather the opposite.

She was looking forward to their first anniversary. Now they had something else to celebrate together. Her life was perfect. More than she had ever aspired.

She wanted for their anniversary to be a peaceful one. She had long dreamed of going to some of her favorite peaceful places. However with no gate travel they would need to ride. Something Miss Ivory had told her was forbidden.

Marcus had gotten up before her and was not to be seen. How she hated to feel so tired, but she was rested, thus she would not complain. She pulled herself from bed and changed into her dress. She pulled the blankets back over the bed, and giving a look to ensure everything was in its place, she went off to search for her husband.

Not finding him in any of the rooms, she decided to venture out. Most likely he would be surveying the complex or overseeing the museum. As she opened the door she saw him come through the gate. A smile as bright as a candle's flame spread across her face as she greeted him. Standing on her toes to stretch up and kiss his cheek.

She frowned slightly as she told him her plans for the day would have to be altered due to Miss Ivory's warning. "However we can go for a walk, or just spend a peaceful afternoon together." She smiled softly as she looked up at him.

He returned her smile with one of his own and allowed her to lead him in to the manor. As if in afterthought, he let her know he had some matters to attend, but would return shortly. She held her sigh in until he had left. She knew his business was of importance, and she would patiently await his return.

She wandered through each room, as she often did when he was out. Admiring paintings, the books, her garden... She made her way to the sitting room and sat close to the fire. Her eyes wandered to the tree in the corner. He was not one for yule, yet he allowed her to keep the tree. She began to drift off to a daydream as she looked back to the crackling embers.

She did not hear the door when he returned, but opened her eyes when she sensed his presence in front of her. She watched as he lowered to a bending knee and handed her a tiny box. She opened it to find a ring.

He looked into her eyes as he spoke. "Will you marry me? ...Again?"

Her eyes began to glisten with tears of happiness. "Marcus...I would marry you a thousand times over, if not a million." She put her arms around him and held him close. "Everyday you have given me is one of happiness. So much more than I could ask."

"All I ask is I never stop." He smiled warmly at her. The same smile that captured her heart a year ago. He pulled himself up to sit beside her. She leaned close and rested her head against his chest.

Yes...her life was perfect.
