|
There is somewhat of a movement on Atlantic. Some of us are trying to help out new players, meeting in Haven, trying ot outfit when we can.
As a part of this, I am going to start one night a week, with Skill Training helpful hints. And am putting together some books to hand out to new players. If any of you would like to assist with this project, being mindful to not include exploits or third party programs, let me know. Some of the things I am going to cover is going to be :
1. Pet Training
2. Magic Resist
3. Combat Skills
4. Lumberjacking
5. How to make gold your first week in game
if you can think of other things that would be helpful to new players, put together a book and get me a copy. I will see copies are made and distributed. Thanks. |

count me in, and I am fairly sure Starfire will be as well. We both have long advocated helping new players.
Just think.. what if when you first started playing, someone came up to you and gave you say a newbie kit.
if you are a mage, you get a full spellbook, same for necro. If a mage we will try to give you as many LRC items as we can. I personally save anything around 15 or more for this kind of thing.
if you are a fighter we give you either dc or spined leather armor
we give you two runebooks. One to the major cities, and one for rp spots.
I am only available during peak hours a few nights a week, but but would be more than happy to help with this project. _________________ "He's been fired from the Shrimp Boat?" -- Charlaine Harris "Living Dead In Dallas." |

everything that they need, give them enough to start and the knowledge to use them.
I have given out 5 sets of 100 LRC armor for mage wanna bees.
I was lucky when I started on Atlantic. I had played before on Pac, so I knew a lot, even though there had been a lot of changes made in my absence. Within a week I had 2 mil in the bank and a 5x GM + warrior. Within a month I had a legendary mage, and had placed and given away three houses. That is not typical because I would classify myself as a power gamer in that I play ALOT.
However, I am constantly looking for spots where new players can place houses. I even give out gold for them to do so.
It puts a smile on my face to go to new haven, and to see crafters sitting there making new armor and weps and clothes for new players. I think that EA can make some changes to the new player experience. Instead of giving them 1k gold, give them 10k so that they can insure upon getting a new wep or armor. I know that if you are in young status you are invulnerable and unlootable. But what happens when the first char you create is no longer young, and then you create another?
EA can also include books in the pack. One describing Insurance. One describing in detail the quests available. One describing Stats and skill gains. As players we have extensive knowledge on what to do to gain skills quickly. We should put together a library of that, and then push for EA to have a library in new haven with those available. |

Post your helpful hints in the Adventurer's Guide book here on arpc. I will copy and paste into books, and make sure you get the credit on the book, and mass produce copies to hand out. Thanks. _________________ "Always speak the Truth even if it leads to your death." - Lord Godfrey |

For elven, we have some great links on the Amar board...I can send them to anyone who wants them. Audrina supplied a lot of them, it was great info. _________________ "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."

Will and I can help hand out books or offer some funds to help offset the cost of equiping them. We have some items collected just for that purpose that you can give them as goody bags. _________________ Grand Duchess Molly Kaldhel

Don't forget to Role-Play with them a little!
And send them to the boards...let em pick a guild they like if they wanna get involved in the community.
I'd be willing to go on any of these trips out there and assist on one of my characters when free. |
