”You will not need to carry the child to term. I spoke with Merci and you and our child will receive the same treatment as you have in previous pregnancies.” Beowulf placed an arm around her, confidence beaming from his face.
She smiled, but from behind the smile she felt quite worried. How did he make this happen? To what lengths did he go? She was not blind, she had seen the way the Matriarch’s favored him. She knew of his infidelities to Tatiana with Ceinwyn. Would he be unfaithful again to the one person she claimed her entire loyalty to? And if it were to happen that he would once again become attracted to her or if that attraction had never left, what would that mean for Audrina? She owed everything she had to Ceinwyn and to her she gave the utmost loyalty and respect.
Beowulf could see the nervousness on her face and tugged her closer to him. ”I brought Merci a pizza. The matriarch’s and their food…” He laughed. Her body gave into him as she leaned her head into his chest. She laughed because she didn’t want to show him any sign of weakness.
”I think I will retire for the evening. Will you be joining me?” He looked to her hopeful.
”In time. I have a few things to finish up here.”
He kissed her forehead and then her stomach before he made his way to their chambers.
Hours had passed as she remained seated in front of the fireplace. Her mind raced as it often did. She tried convincing herself that she did not care for her sleeping husband. Her persistence did no good. Her eyelids grew heavy and she knew it was time to put her argument with herself to an end.
She climbed into bed and realized the argument was over. She looked at his peaceful face and knew that she loved him. She wanted to ignore it, especially in light of recent events, but she could not. One hand touched his cheek as she leaned over to kiss him. Her lips parted as she whispered the three words she would never allow herself to say if he were conscious, ”I love you.”
She turned over, keeping her body close to his, knowing in her mind that a very important decision had just been made. She had made herself vulnerable to her sleeping husband. She made up her mind. If he shall stray back to Ceinwyn, who would I be to say no? The thought hurt her, but she knew she had no other choice. She would sit back and wait to see if history would repeat itself.
On this night she had come to a painful realization. For so long she tried her best to push love away and as she succumb, she realized why. Opening the door to love is just the same as opening the door to jealousy and pain. _________________ Darrien_Church: he asked what was the church of england based on

The Pizza had been a nice gesture she was surprised that Beowulf had researched it enough to know it was her favorite food. Yet her mind was made up.
Either the man apologized for his rudeness, or she could not help him. One didnt strut into Umbra and treat the Matriarch poorly and then ask things of them.
Yet again Merci was surprised as Beo offered up a full apology for his actions and that went far for her. Though, the man may not or may be sincere at least he had said the words and Merci wasnt in the mood to deduce sincerity.
Beo, Audrina may have the pregnancy growth supplements and the supplements for growth may continue when the child is born, so that it will grow quickly. However the alchemist will have to make a supplement to replace the Resistance potions I wont be giving you. I still reserve the resistance fortification supplements only for Umbran children.
The price will be blackrock, he only works for that, and you can pay him for it.
I will let you know when it is ready.
Merci had decided in Audrinas favor mostly, as the woman was Umbran. and considering Beo was a member of Dark Order, their current ally, she could only see her way fit to be reasonable. Only holding back the one small item but relinquishing the rest. She and Beo parted on good terms, she admired him as a fighter and always would, and as long as they remained on civil terms the peace would continue between them. _________________ May destiny guide you... |
