Hello Ceinwyn,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for our most enlightening discourse the other evening. The company was entertaining, and all in all, I would have to say that it was an educational experience to say the least.
Some of the things that I learned from our visit together, will hopefully serve me well in future encounters that we might share. Until such time, may your path in the dark be an enlightened one.
(I am sorry, I had to thrown that little pun in there, I simply could not help myself.)
Sincerely,
Thomas Hunter
Hunters Of Truth
After sending the letter off Thomas mused over the things that stick out in his mind about this meeting. He observed that the Matriarch appears ready to draw her blade at any moment, and if her blade is as keen as her wit it would be prudent to wear body armor underneath his robe.
He learned some other things as well, the matriarch is very observant. When she returned from stepping out, she immediately noticed that her bottle of wine had been exhanged. He pulls out his journal and makes an entry,
Journal entry - Note to Self...
1. No more drinking before meeting the matriarch. Clear head is necessary. |

As the fire snaked up the underbelly of the beast, a squeal of pain emerged from its throat. With a soft thud to the ground, the vampire bat was no more. Ceinwyn noticed something in its mouth. Bending down, she examined the object, determining that it was a piece of correspondence.
She unfolds the letter and reads its contents.
Oh, that Thomas fellow with the bright robe. I warned him about sending pigeons...
She gives the bat a swift kick for good measure and heads into the Sepulcher to pen a response.
Thomas the non-Lord,
I am pleased that you enjoyed your recent visit. Do feel free to stop by again, sometime, preferrably in something easier on the eyes.
It is a shame such a seeker of knowledge is so drawn to the light. You have our utmost sympathies.
Walk in Darkness,
Matriarch ab'Arawn
The letter is sent by wisp. |
